"Quite sad that so many people in this area died before turning 1"
"Quiet and peaceful. Well maintained historic cemetery. We enjoyed visiting and paying our respects while in the area. We noticed what appeared to be large animal markings/scratches/fur on the left side post of the sign. The thought of a big bear being out there with us was the only creepy part of our visit."
"This was a favorite stop for My Wife. She loves the history found in these Historic Cemeteries. We took a drive up to Old Elkmont Cemetery while on Our return trip home. Be mindful not to miss the turn, it is a gravel driveway that has a loop at the end to turn around. As many have posted.... very well kept and very peaceful. It brought joy to see that newer flowers left by family members and friends of those that have been laid to rest here."
"Very clean and well maintained. A lot of older graves from early settlers of the mountains. Remember to be respectful when walking around and taking photos."
