"Good place for walking with kids. For kids have train. Village so interesting this is a history."
"Never really had heard much about this until the holiday setup. The people working the place were very nice and knowledgeable. They said they had spent either 150k or 250k restoring the buildings which was nice to hear. The paths were well kit at night, though a bit uneven so I was looking down a lot, but it was fine. It looks like a great place to either take your dogs for a walk with their trails or even just take them yourself. Nice, peaceful area that is quiet and off the main path. I plan to come back again during the non holiday event times."
"Interesting. But small. Needs more to experience. No live animals...as in Old Bethpage Village in Long Island. Snacks and treats are very expensive."
"Beautiful historic grounds to explore. Great for all ages, wonderful for pictures. The museum is full of interesting history. The train ride is a lot of fun, educational and a blast from the past! The volunteers are very friendly, knowledgeable and love to answer any questions you may have. Even though this is state property they rely on donations and visitors to keep the grounds open and functional. Every donation helps since it’s all for preservation of the property and trains. Santa visits during the holidays and during the Spring the Easter Bunny makes an appearance. We can’t wait for the spooky events in the village and train. Fun ghost stories in the church and ghosts and ghouls wander though the property. The fire thrower is always a favorite. We have brought my 3 yo every year and she has a blast. The actors are very good about keeping the spook level PG. Great family events and activities!"
"A beautiful forest park surrounding historic Allaire Village. History lessons, trails to take, even a train ride for fun. Check hours on the website before traveling if you want tours, events, or a ride on the train. Bring a picnic and enjoy the atmosphere."
