Children's University Medical Group

Children's University Medical Group (CUMG) is a non-profit pediatric group practice located at 4500 Sand Point Way Northeast in Seattle, Washington. Established to support the academic, research, and clinical missions of the University of Washington School of Medicine and Seattle Children's Hospital, CUMG is dedicated to preventing, treating, and eliminating pediatric diseases while training the next generation of pediatric physicians.

CUMG employs physician members who are appointed UWSOM pediatric faculty physicians and provide services across the WWAMI region, as well as other approved clinical sites of practice. The institution offers group practice operations services, payor contracting, and professional fee billing through Seattle Children's and UW Physicians (UWP).

Physicians interested in providing care outside of the major institutions may request permission through a site of practice request. CUMG reimburses for medical and DEA license renewals for members, associates, and some limited associates with administrator approval. The institution also provides professional liability protection under the University of Washington’s self-insurance program.

Led by President Dr. Jack Salerno and Executive Director Niurka Vazquez, the CUMG board of directors manages the affairs of the institution with input from non-physician representatives from Seattle Children's, UWSOM, and CUMG administration. Committees led by board members focus on specific aspects of CUMG business, including benefits packages, financial activities, and compliance.

Seattle Children's Hospital, a partner institution, provides financial assistance for medically necessary services based on family income and hospital resources for children under age 21 residing in Washington, Alaska, Montana, or Idaho. The institution complies with applicable civil rights laws and does not discriminate based on various factors.
