"The rooms were clean and roomy. It's an older building and we had a kitchenette that in the morning had ants in the sink but for an older building it's kind of expected. And the toilet handle needed shaken not to run all night. But the check-in clerk heard we were there to visit our son in the hospital and gave us a free upgrade to a larger room. Overall I would stay again."

"1. The lady working the front was very sweet despite my frustrations. She is stellar at customer service and did a great job smiling even though I was slightly frustrated ...ok...very displeased. She described breakfast, and it was good as she said it would be... it is about the only thing this hotel has going for them. She truly is just doing her job, and I can't fault her for owners and managers who need to make some changes. 2. The pictures online lie. A lot. This room is small. And my view was a tweaker house and rotting boat. 3. I paid $160 for a single queen room. It smells old. The bathroom is smaller then a linen closet (ok...maybe a TAD bit bigger...it does have to fit a bathtub.) When you sit on the toilet you wonder if you are actually Snow White hanging out with the Seven Dwarfs. 4. When I got here, I was told there was no fridge. For $160, you've got to be kidding me. However, I came up and low and behold. There is one. No worries....I was grateful to see it. 5. The parking lot and outside of the hotel at night reminds me of a motel that you check into but never leave...if you catch my drift. 6. I kept hearing weird noises all night and found a couple of odd bugs. The fan box makes obnoxious noises all night. That was fun. Reminded me of camping almost... just missing the frogs and crickets singing. Walls are paper thin. I could hear a room 3 doors down from mine talking. 7. The doors don't swing shut...small issue, but when you are used to the luxury of feeling safe....well... make sure you push your door shut. 8. The bed squeaks and is a spring mattress. I would NOT suggest one of these rooms for a honeymoon. EVERYONE will hear your business. 9. The curtain for the coat closet... doesn't open or slide open easily...it's a tight curtain on a curtain rod that's too big for the tube hole. So, while you're struggling with the theft proof hangers, you're also struggling with holding open a curtain. It's the little things, yall! 9. I can stay in Seattle for $150 and have 2 queen beds, an elevator, a beautiful lobby, and solid frames that don't squeak. To be honest, I wonder if the prices are jacked up to keep the tweaker and voucher bandits out. We see these types of hotels all the time taken over by addicts. Remember, we are talking about Kelso....not Vancouver...not Seattle.....but Kelso. Maybe compare it to paying for family photos and getting Polaroid pictures. If you made it this far, let me end it with this. Maybe they just did a remodel. Maybe they are making improvements. Maybe they are actively finding ways to improve a building that may have been run down. Maybe they took over a tweaker motel and are turning it around. Maybe it's all trival things. But for $160....I expected better."

"Rooms small, bed small, pillows small, towels small, bathroom tiny. But it's clean, so that's good. Definitely nothing fancy. They don't service the rooms during the day."

"Our first contact with BW of Kelso was with Bruce at the front desk, he was friendly, helpful and professional. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was fantastic. Would stay there again in a heartbeat!!!"

"The staff for very helpful and accommodating The room was very dark with no sunlight or fresh air My biggest complaint is the bed and bed linens. I couldn’t even sleep it was so horrible the mattress tag the quilt should’ve been thrown out. I brought my own quilted duvet, thank goodness and a couple pillows, but that wasn’t enough because it was then outfitted with a bunch Berry Square hard pillows that I wouldn’t even uses throw pillows let alone bed"
