"I would rate it 0 stars if I could. My stay here was nothing but issues. I booked a 2 queen bed room when I checked in I was given a king bed. I was traveling alone with my 2 children so the second bed was necessary. I went up to the office to tell them and no one was there it was 3pm. I call and the front desk man answers the phone. He tells me I booked a king bed to which I told him I understand there was a misunderstanding but my reservation said 2 queen beds. He said he’d be back in 30 minutes and to wait in the room he gave me. 3 hours and numerous calls and emails later he finally told me to go to the front desk someone would help me. The front desk woman was super friendly and gave me a new room. However two nights later at 8pm I hear aggressive knocking on my door. It’s the original front desk man demanding to know who put me in this room. I explain the whole situation and after taking a picture of my ID he storms off without any sort of apology. I was forced to extend my stay as my house still wasn’t ready. I go up to the desk at 10am to be greeted by the woman. I explained that I had extended the room and wanted to confirm she had gotten it. She said it was in her system and there was no issue as long as I booked it before checkout at 11. Then last night at 10 pm my children and I are woken up by banging on my door against my better judgment I answer the door to a drunken front desk man who tells me not to extend my room another day as my stay was no longer welcome. I asked him if he had recieved a complaint about me or my room. To which he said no but I hadn’t asked him to extend the room. He said I had only booked the room 2 nights and I didn’t ask to stay longer. I told him my original booking was Monday-Friday. He told me I was a liar and when he pulled up my original reservation and if it was in fact 2 days I was to leave right then. I followed him to the office and pulled up my reservation on the way when I tried to show it to him he said he didn’t care what that said. He then told me he had been watching my car and saw how often I was gone from the hotel during the day and he wouldn’t be responsible for my items when I wasn’t there. He said the police had been there 2 days.(not for my room) So I asked if I was being punished because his hotel wasn’t safe. Regardless I apologized for not realizing that I had to ask permission to extend my room that the woman at the front desk told me as long as I booked before 11 I was ok. He told me that there was no woman as he lived in the office and had no wife or girlfriend. When I described her to him he then admitted she worked weekends. So I’m really unsure what the issue was but he made me really uncomfortable coming to my door at 10pm intoxicated. He made me feel singled out and targeted. As a single woman traveling with children I would not recommend this place to anyone. I have already reached out to corporate and just feel I should warn others. I fully expect him to have a rebuttal to my review as I have seen his responses to other negative reviews and he clearly doesn’t believe his behavior is wrong."
"Needed a room after an elk ran me off the road. Paid over 300 dollars for a room that smelt like a cigarette, and a tv that didn’t work. When I went down to express that I wasn’t paying that much for a room that doesn’t function correctly. The person at the front desk instantly offered a refund instead of trying to help me. Then called the police on me becuase I was understandably upset paying that much for their absolute disgusting room. If you want somewhere 200 dollars cheaper, clean, doesn’t smell like a cigarette and the tv works. Go to travelodge across the way. Much better service!!!!"
"We have been here for about 3 weeks while we look for a new place. The Olympic Inn has been a lovely home in the meantime. The owners are very attentive and really make sure the property is safe and free of any kind of soliciting or loitering. A very important factor for me is the immaculate condition of the premises, not one time have I seen anytype of rubbish or litter anywhere. I can't express how much I appreciate having this clean, safe place to live. I have stayed at just about every hotel in the Aberdeen - hoquiam area and we have found the Olympic to be hands down the best in every way, the clean modernly updated spacious rooms are not only inviting but comfortable. I look forward to the duration of our stay and while excited to get in our new apartment, I will be sad to leave. I also will absolutely recommend the Olympic Inn to any friends or family visiting the harbor."
"The location was perfect for what we needed. We ended up staying two nights, but due to personal circumstances that had nothing to do with the hotel, we had two different rooms. The first night was great, 4/5. The headboards on the beds have reading lamps on both sides (we’re readers so this was great), unfortunately mine didn’t work. The second night we stayed in a different room, and the reading light on my side did not work yet again! The lamp on the table between the two beds was missing the lampshade and also didn’t work. There also weren’t plugs near the nightstands at all so we couldn’t plug our phones in near us. And no lamps on my side of the bed so it was a pretty dark side of the room, which matters when reading. Beds were very stiff, which I enjoyed but some may not."
