"My experience with Dr. Dale was just fine! After reading the several bad reviews on here and needing to find a new eye doctor for just moving to the area recently and pretty much all the places have bad reviews but I’m also aware that you can’t please the world! I went ahead and took my chance on this place. I walked in expecting to be rudely greeted and the receptionist or something but was very beyond friendly and carried conversations with me when I arrived and as I was leaving. Dale was friendly and wonderful and I was expecting a doctor in a bad mood but he was actually a cool guy! He was easygoing and someone I’ll look forward to visiting as the eyes call for future visits. I’ll be back in the future here ongoing! They said to call should I need anything at all or find any problems at all with my prescription. Very highly recommended!"
"Was not impressed. For 1 thing I had to fill out long paperwork ahead of appointments for my kids. Then I went to hand it to Optometrist who said oh I don't really need that for anything Then after we were told we needed a prescription we went to pick out our glasses but was told that the person who helps order glasses wasn't there and we would have to come back. This is 30 min away for us. So we come back and order glasses and it takes 2.5 months to get them. Just to find out that one pair is terribly crooked. The office staff is very friendly. But they're not good with scheduling or having a well staffed office."
"Pros: Availability within the month. Cons: I called to schedule an appointment, when I came to my schedule date and time, I was told I must have been given inaccurate information, as Dr. Dale was not even in office that morning. I know for certain I would not have scheduled on the day that they then told me I was really scheduled in their system for, as I work Tu-F and I was scheduled on a Thursday (the receptionist I spoke to on the phone stated my appointment was scheduled for a Monday...untrue in the end, I suppose?) The appointment lasted a total of 18 minutes. I was impressed in a way, and since it was just a yearly check to ensure my prescription was renewed, no harm done I suppose. But I definitely wouldn't call it "thorough." Agree with other reviewers that a hand-written script has a high chance of poor interpretation from other readers, and I personally order contacts through Costco, so it must be legible to others. No issues with my own ordering last month, but with the handwriting on my prescription I can see how it could easily be an issue. Then come to find out I was billed for a "contact lens exam" which is not covered by my insurance and which, per my memory, occurred when Dr. Dale examined my eyes with the contacts I walked in wearing, said they "seem ok" and then had me take out for the remainder of the exam, before replacing the exact same contacts after the exam to leave the appointment/clinic wearing. $60 to be told the brand and fit of contacts I'd been wearing for years after other providers' legitimate exams...really do fit OK in the end? Seems bogus to me. To sum up: efficient if that's your aim, but definitely at the cost of a thorough exam. I'll be going elsewhere for my next annual exam."
"I went in for an eye exam and contact lense fitting. I asked how much I would expect to pay out-of-pocket after my insurance and the receptionists couldn't seem to answer the basic question. My vision insurance (Eye Med) explained that my out-of-pocket cost for a standard contact lense fit and followup appointment would be a maximum of $55. Later Peninsula Eye & Contacts sent me a bill for $108! The receptionist billed me for a "premium fit and followup" without my authorization and claimed it was standard practice in the business. There was nothing "premium" about my exam and fit, as I have a simple, single-vision prescription. I called three of their competitors and they were all up front about out-of-pocket expenses, assuring me they charge between $39-55 for the exact same service. Additionally the prescription from the doctor at Peninsula Eye & Contacts was illegible; even the receptionists had difficulty reading it. The test contacts I was issued were uncomfortable and I struggled to see clearly through them. I'm not sure I can trust the office to get it right and am hesitant to go back. I'm still working with Peninsula Eye & Contact to get fair treatment and pricing. As of now I would recommend going to another clinic that is transparent, respectful, and easy to work with."
"My wife was looking for a new prescription and since this place was close, she thought it could work. Our insurance has a $5 copay for an exam but according to this place it didn't cover a contact exam. The total out of pocket was $113..... for an exam, with insurance.... the doctor was rude, didn't answer my wife's questions and didn't give her an eye prescription that even works... her sight is still fuzzy with new contacts. I would not recommend this place."
