"1 Nov 2023 Mr. Shepherd did not cure the arthritis in my left hip. Darn! Nevertheless, he is a good listener. He proposes ways to soothe the pain. He assured me that surgery was not an option."

"This is appointment was for my teenage son. This was a follow up appointment from the initial appointment 6 months prior. because Dr. Shepherd initially said if the knee pain gets worse to come back and see him. This is what we did complaining about knee pain every single day specially, on one more than the other difficult for him to do PE walk up the stairs, etc. very limited pain medication such as Tylenol ibuprofen is given to him.. During the appointment they had my son change into some shorts so that doctor shepherd can examine him. Well, Dr. Shepherd came into the room with his face, looking annoyed and right away, started saying we talked about the six months ago about the condition diagnosis that he has, which is curable and treatable and basically there’s nothing I can do. He was annoyed as why we were there if we already knew there was nothing we can do. My question is why the heck would he ask us to go back again and see him if there’s absolutely nothing in his power, he can actually do he did not even offer a new x-ray in your MRI to see if there is anything different happening to my sons name there’s times you can’t even sleep at night. I asked at least for a letter to be written for his PE teacher, and he only put the letter to be valid for one month when Dr. Shepard said that his condition can last years and he knows this is not gonna go away . He then started telling my son how big he was as in overweight, and that he needs to start losing weight because he is bigger than most boys his age how inconsiderate is he. Instead of assuming he could’ve at least asked if we were already doing some type of weight management to help with the weight bearing on his knees which we have been for the last four months and has seen a huge improvement but all he can see is how big he is instead of saying he has not gain any weight within that timeframe. I feel as if , he really does discriminate against people of color, overweight patients. He is very uncaring and unempathetic more as a matter of fact, type of attitude. The treatment options he gave us were basically for my son to keep on growing so that his knees can stop hurting which can take 2 +years on his own, physical therapy, which Dr. Shepherd said will make it worse , Tylenol and ibuprofen. Did not offer any other research just to make sure everything is OK. I will most definitely will never take my son to see him again to be treated like this. He did not even examine touch or look at his knees, and that really got me mad as to why they even had him change into those shorts. What a waste of my time insurance money in my money , I would not recommend him one bit to anybody."
