"Cool tower in a GREAT casual hiking area and urban park. This is a free city of Bellingham park. Great views of Bellingham. To talk about the park itself - If this park is the best in the city for one thing - TRAIL RUNNING. Not too technical, not too steep but good variety in grade. Not somewhere you need to drive to. Otherwise, beautiful hiking or walking trails and great views from the observation tower. You can absolutely forget you are surrounded by the densest parts of the city in here. Overall, the well-maintained paths and diverse flora make it a must-visit for locals and tourists alike. I personally think it’s a bit underrated compared to Bellinghams other similar urban nature parks."
"Absolutely beautiful place for a relatively easy nature hike. You feel surrounded by the forest and the rest of the world seems a million miles away. The only downsides are there were no restrooms that we could find(please let me know if I'm wrong) and the tower is not wheelchair accessible. Visited October 2019"
"The arboretum is great for a quick walk and is always stunning. It's peaceful and quiet. I would be careful as some of the paved areas can be slick in the fall or winter, and some of the paths are rocky and uneven if you have mobility concerns. Some of the unpaved paths can have a lot of growth around them so if you are walking in the morning beware of spiderwebs to the face."
"Such a nice area for hiking around and enjoying the quiet forest and amazing hiking trails all over the hill. Make sure to check out the observation tower and many hiking trails for a fun adventure!"
"A really easy trail system with markers and a map. The old tunnel is right next to the upper parking lot, no hiking required. Nice views from lookout points, lots of other people on the trail but it didn't feel crowded, just people passing here and there. Also a lot of dogs but only 2 were off leash and I didn't come across any poop which is always a concern in a trail system that allows dogs. It's beautiful and would be easy to wander around for hours looking at trees."
