"I wanted to speak to the "healthy skin" part of Calico's services. Her skin intervention with me was nothing short of life-changing. I have had type 4 rosacea for over 15 years. My dermatologist said something like, "this is a chronic condition; manage it with low dose doxycycline and Metronidazole gel." I stayed with this regimen for years, fighting the battles but losing the war. Then I went on a Nutritarian diet (G-BOMBS, look it up) and my skin improved so much I was able to stop taking doxycycline (although I still used Metrogel). Things were 90% better. Then something happened as the weather grew colder & darker. My skin suddenly got bad again, worse than ever! I was desperate to get the outbreak under control. I watched a video on YouTube titled "How I Healed My Rosacea: The Solution Dermatologists Don't Want You to Know About!" The young woman had EXTREME rosacea that she recovered from by the use of Osmosis skincare products. She said you can email the doctor who created the products and he will (eventually) answer you! So I emailed a pic to Dr. Ben Johnson, he answered saying, "You have candida acne rosacea. Stop the antibiotics, they will worsen the gut." (As an aside, conventional medicine does not believe in treating Candida yeast overgrowth...). Dr. Ben prescribed his Osmosis products called Rescue (serum), Skin Clarifier (capsules) taken with twice daily psyllium husk fiber, and Skin Perfection Elixir (frequency-enhanced water; sounded pretty woo-woo but I did it anyway). Now, where to get this stuff ASAP?? I look up estheticians on the Osmosis website and find Calico. She has all the products at her office - no ordering online and waiting. I went to her office and met her. I asked her, "Is this stuff really going to work?" She said. "Yes. I have rosacea, too." I look at her skin and not only is it perfectly smooth but it does not have a hint of redness. I decide to trust her. I also wanted to stop using my old skincare products ("dermatologist tested" stuff like Cerave, Cetaphil & prescriptions) but didn't know what to use instead. Calico made me a bag of skincare samples - 5 products plus a lip balm. That bag of samples was a like a life preserver. She also texted me detailed instructions on how to use the products. I went home and got with the program. My skin improved dramatically over the course of just a few days and continued to improve as the weeks & months rolled on. Every now & then Calico would text me to check in... "How's it going with the routine?" She also counseled me to get natural fragrance-free detergent, adding baking soda & vinegar. We took a hard look at the prescriptions and supplements I take. She also got me to throw away big Pharma Metamucil and switch to an organic psyllium husk fiber - a huge improvement right there. Basically, Calico is like the dermatologist you WISH you had, someone who cares enough to take time with you and delivers improvement and results. I finally did go in & treat myself to a facial with Calico. By that time my skin was so good I felt I didn't even need it, but she managed to improve my skin still more.
