"Most caring acupuncturist I’ve been to! Tom is not just excellent in his craft and well-versed in various modalities, he is compassionate, gracious and caring. He listens to the needs and challenges of his clients and creates a calm ambience during the treatments that melt your worries away. I feel so grateful to have stumble upon his practice while spending a month in the Gorge during a very stressful medical situation for my family. Dealing with the stress and anxiety of the current life’s situation, paired with a nomad lifestyle for 10 months prior, has created a lot of stress and tension in my body and my mind felt equally overwhelmed. I was unable to sleep well for days and had a lot of tension in my jaw, neck and shoulders. I familiarized myself with Tom’s practice on his site (very detailed!) and read the excellent reviews on here. I called and immediately felt like I’ll be in good hands. He was able to squeeze me into his schedule the following day. I was shocked that his first session for new patients was complimentary, and it wasn’t a quick preview either. He gave me a generous hour of his time addressing all of the tense points I mentioned. I walked out of there feeling better and more rested than I’ve felt in weeks. I slept like a baby for the 3 nights that followed, until some stress started to catch up again. I’ve booked a follow up appointment a week after my first, and just walked out of there feeling like a new person. I have another one set for a week from now, and look forward to it already. Unlike other practitioners I’ve seen in the past, who “market” session packs and repeat visits, Tom advised that these three sessions should be sufficient to combat the problems I came with. That makes me feel grateful that Tom prioritizes the needs of his clients above all and is not trying to “upsell”. That being said, I’ll probably continue to come in weekly while I’m in the area just to maintain my stress levels and help my body function at its highest level. Besides acupuncture, Tom also does cupping, massage, Chinese medicine, supplements, yoga (although it’s currently on hold due to covid), and ju jitsu. I highly recommend his practice whether you are new to acupuncture or accustomed to oriental medicine. Tom strikes me as a phenomenon human who truely loves what he does and is fully committed to improving the lives of his patients. Skamania clinic is a lovely, clean space with stellar views of the waterfront in Stevenson. Plenty of parking and easy to find. Not a bad place to take a walk after your wellness session and enjoy the stunning views. Thank you, Tom for taking care of me during this hectic chapter of my life."
