"I rented an appliance dolly. The service at check-in and checkout was quick and pleasant. However, when I got the dolly home, the locking mechanism for the strap simply didn’t work. I was able to make do by using some zip ties to secure the mechanism long enough to safely move the refrigerator. When I returned the dolly, I mentioned to the counter clerk that it was broken and should be repaired. Not only did she not offer any kind of apology…she literally turned her back on me to pull my receipt out of the printer and handed it to me. Renting a piece of broken equipment for $25 and not being gracious enough to say, “oh, I’m so sorry“is going to get you a bad review."
"To be fair, I've rented a few tools from this store and didn't have an issue. But one poor experience can't be justified by the other positive experiences. This time, I rented a small cultivator (a Stihl model). I get the two-minute instruction on starting it and take it home. I clocked in at 11 a.m. and the daily rate gives me until the same time tomorrow. I used the unit for a few hours, needing to stop every 15 minutes or so to clear the tines of weeds. At about 2:30, I stopped it like the previous 8-10 times but this time, it wouldn't start. The pull cord would not catch the motor to start it, there was no resistance when pulling it. I checked for something to reset but couldn't. This required making a trip back. The tech checked it and after pounding on the case a few times, he was able to get it to catch and it started (not exactly a normal troubleshooting technique). Well, the day's about over and I wasn't going to get much time to finish so I just turned it in. Here's the deal, I asked for a half-off day rate cut since the unit failed and they would only give me $10 off. Is that fair? Also, the tech mentioned that the pull cord problem happened a couple of times before despite being a new unit. Are they renting out equipment with known problems? At this point, my confidence on getting problem free equipment and properly compensated for failures is not good from this store."
"It was my first visit to United Rental's, and it was absolutely amazing. Miranda was exceptionally wonderful, and I will be returning in the future when I find myself in need of another equipment rental!"
"These guys are great. For a 6 man shop, they really work their butts off and provide great customer service. The equipment I get from them is always in great condition considering how many people use the equipment. I would highly recommend renting equipment from them."
"I have been coming here for many years, and the service has always been excellent. The equipment is in good shape, and on the rare occasion that something didn't work right, I wasn't charged for it. The employees are helpful and friendly and know their stuff. It may not be the lowest priced rental place, but it is tops in every other way."
