"Pulled my John Deere lawn mower out of storage this spring only to find it had issues. I called Pape in Mount Vernon to set an appointment. The nice lady on the phone let me know they were a couple of weeks out but that I could set an appointment. I did so and then brought my lawnmower in to drop it off on the morning of the scheduled appointment. The hours listed on their website say 7 am to 5 pm Mon-Friday. This was a Wednesday. I showed up at about 7:15. I was told in not very friendly terms that the service department doesn't open until 8. I had an appointment to get to so, only after my insistence, a salesperson helped me unload and took my information. I didn't hear anything for a couple of days and called. They said, 'oh, yeah, we are a few weeks out.' I said that I had made an appointment and already waited a couple of weeks. They said, 'oh, let me see what I can do to get it expedited.' and then promptly ended the call. It has been another couple of days and I just called again. My machine has not been started and I was told it would be another few weeks. I understand this time of year is busy and everyone wants their mowers serviced. But, I have been very disappointed with their communication and service. Especially considering I have purchased multiple machines from that store (Barnett and Washington Tractor before). Disappointed. Wish I had other, reasonable options. I've had this Z445 since 2008 and it has been virtually problem free until now. When I consider a replacement, it will be heavily based on where I can get it serviced."
