"Today was the worst day I've ever experienced with Safeway, first I called to see if they had beef ribs, as me and my wife was walking into the store, I noticed a group of people by the front door and they just stared at us, so I said sorry we don't have any change, but as we were talking to someone in the meat department, I noticed that these same people kept walking past us, so I said to my wife, there's something wrong here, I think security is following us, of course my wife thought I was paranoid, so after discovering that Safeway only had one pack of beef ribs and after talking to two employees, my wife and I took the one pack of ribs and decided to do more shopping and sure enough these same people was on every isle, so I say to my wife that they are secretly trying to follow us, anyway we pay at self checkout and as we're leaving the store, these same people has an old man stopped at the door, one a him/she telling him to sign papers while some skinny white kid is pulling him saying come back in the store at the exact same time, so I said hey he can't sign a paper while being pulled and told them that they needed better communication, and that ignited and argument with me and the it thing and she accused me of stealing, because I was wearing sweats and then it threatened to call the police and of course I pulled out my phone and asked it to repeat that I probably stole something which it didn't, but as a young black business owner, I don't steal anything from anyone, it was really ridiculous that I was able to point them all out as security because of there lack of training and I honestly thought they were homeless people when I first entered the store. The old black guy took his jacket off and put it in an empty cart and walked around like that for 20 minutes and the him/she had an empty basket and kept smiling at us and saying Hi, like it literally smiles and said hi every time we walk past it, it was very disappointing to be treated that way. as a member of the Alki community I always go to the store on admiral way because we're on the beach and it's the closest but they haven't had beef ribs in a while. But besides the secret shopper incident, I can say I got some very amazing service from the rest of the staff, and I can only hope that the bad apples are replaced by better and more professional people."
"“One of the cashiers at Safeway was very rude and disrespectful because I didn’t know if the other door was broken. I accidentally opened it, but I closed the door. She yelled at me. I just wanted a cup of warm coffee; it was cold outside.” She made a bad reputation all the time."
"I have lived all over the Seattle and Greater Seattle Area...and Safeway has always been my go to store...I completely understand although all the stores have the name Safeway...that does not necessarily mean that all the stores are equal. This is a smaller location than most and as such it can not carry as much variety as some of it's larger sister stores...I wouldn't normally hold this against a smaller location but this specific location also seems to have issues at keeping their smaller selection stocked properly...which is a bit frustrating...less to begin with and then even less because it's never stocked...also unfortunately I have found the staff at this store a little less then helpful...and they have very limited self checkout (4 only) and only ever have 1 check-out line open...and it's a very busy urban location...so I typically have to wait 10/15 min standing in line waiting to check out...all while I watch staff idly stand around and chat with each other...I'm still a Safeway loyalest...and although the above mentioned issues make my shopping experience a bit frustrating...they still have the best prices in the area and that goes a long way on my limited budget...but I hope this store takes this review and implements some changes..."
"By far the worst supermarket in the junction - got worse with time. Prices are high, promotional items are not replenished, self checkout lines are ridiculously long, only one of the 2 entrances is left, staff look sad and are probably overworked. I only go there if I am lazy and want to grab a couple of items. If I want to go to a better Safeway, I drive to Admiral."
"This used to be the only spot I would shop. Not sure what her name is but the black girl or boy, whatever it is, they just hired bout 7 months ago. Probably one of the rudest people I ever bought groceries from. Consistently every time I come in. It’s a serious problem and she is that way towards most of the customers. She or he should be fired. No excuses."
