"I was so disappointed in Crosscut’s customer service!! The owner/manager that I talked to on the phone didn’t want to help me at all, said I just needed to come in and look. When I got there he came out of his office and again didn’t want to take the time to help me. I was looking for three boards of Oak which I didn’t understand what he was saying about the unfinished side, the extra length, the pricing, what would work for trim boards and what would not. He made it very clear that he had no patience for my lack of knowledge. I finally was referred to Limback Lumber by a friend and WOW they were so nice and sold me exactly what I needed. I was in and out in 10 minutes Matt was a huge help and my trim matched my doors and looks great. Don’t waste your time at Crosscut unless you’re a contractor and knows exactly what you need."
"Love the variety of wood available. It's like a candy store!"
"I LOVE this place but really wish they were open on weekends. Even 9-12 on Saturday. I would go so much more often if I didn't need to miss work in order to shop here - I can't help but think I'm not the only woodworking hobbyist that works a weekday 9-5 schedule in Seattle...."
"I’ve been a carpenter in Seattle for a long time. I always thought this was a hobbyist kind of place, but finally tried them out for a staircase. This place makes me smile. Lots of really nice material. Competitive prices, from what I’ve seen. It’s like a smaller Edensaw, but they’re way more helpful. And they’re in Seattle. We’re lucky to have them."
"Remarkable selection of hardwoods. You won't find most of these at a big-box retailer, and if you do, you'll pay 2x-3x what Crosscut charges. And for the one-star reviewer who's butt-hurt because Crosscut isn't open on weekends: Get over it. The fact is, this place caters to professionals in the building trades -- not to consumers and hobbyists. The idea that only "bad woodworkers" have time to shop here during the week is bizarre. Like any other profession, purchasing materials and supplies is part of a building pro's day-to-day work routine, not something they do on evenings and weekends. When those folks buy at Crosscut, it's often for thousands of dollars in product at a time. Hobbyists are welcome to shop here, but lose the entitled attitude -- and for heaven's sake, leave the kiddos at home."
