"this safeway is horrible!!... they banned me and my friend becuz... my friend stole a $5.30 "exotic" drink.. this is 2.50 at fou lee just up the hill. these guys are scammers and are weirdos.. two of the white ones were following me and my friend and were making racist remarks. they said they would charge us with trespassing if we came again. we are 6th graders!!! the white ones were following us throughout the store and were also making racist/islamaphobic comments toward my hijabi friends. i think hr needs to talk to them. the african american security guard was very nice but the main problem was the white security men... they kept pressing us even outside of safeway, we saw one of them at jefferson and they tried to call the cops on us. this racism should not be happening in such a racially diverse city. SHAME!"
"The deli at this Safeway is constantly running out of food for their hot case. There isn't any signage stating what time they close, but their hot case is consistantly empty by 4:30 P.M. which seems way to early to stop serving food. Today I went in at 2:00P.M. thinking maybe I'd luck out and the items listed on their combo meal sign would be available. I was wrong. They were out of chicken strips. When I asked the clerk why they were consistantly out of hot food she couldn't answer. I asked to speak with the manager and they paged a gentleman named Thomas. When I asked Thomas why they couldn't offer a consistent selection he told me it's simple supply and demand. I suggested if they're consistantly running out of food maybe they could order extra to have on hand. He smirked and shook his head. He then told me they don't have the same items in stock everyday. I pointed to the sign that lists the combo meals and asked where it states only certain items will be available on certain days? He laughed and said "I'm just telling you how it is." When I turned around to leave I noticed two plain clothes loss prevention officers standing behind me watching me. One of them was the stalky bald caucasian guy that wears glasses, a mets windbreaker and stands by the bread aisle, or by the liquor cabinet with an empty cart his entire shift. Clearly the managers nor the employees care about providing customer service. They need to do the community a favor by closing it's doors and making room for a grocery store that can keep items in stock and provide the customer service this community deserves."
"If they deserve that being the level of customer service I have received from the store is less than. I've gone into the store on more than one occasion and have witnessed this employee or actually he is a manager. If I'm not mistaken he works at night time so it's probably the closing shift manager and he is pretty presumptuous in his attempts to "catch a thief" if you will. Not cool for he did the same thing to me and I know how it made me feel as a customer. Just trying to get in and out of the store with the things that I need. It's bad enough that we have to wait for so long to give you our money because the lines are so long but to be harassed and felt like you did something wrong when you didn't. And maybe the other people are looking at you like you did something wrong. I mean that's not a place I would like to be or that's not a place I want to give my money to. How about that? Thank you for your time"
"This is a very dirty store. Most items are out of stock. Employees are rude. Security is a joke!! Security busy outside staring at his phone as some of the many homeless walk out with items shoved under their shirt! So many homeless people walking thru the parking lot asking for money. One even offered to sell me the meat he just walked out the store with."
"I often come to this store because it is close to my house. However, items and food are understocked, and too many homeless people, making this location unsafe and dangerous. I think the Store Manager should take these concerns seriously and do something to improve safety, cleanliness, and customer satisfaction. These are not complaints but are some helpful suggestions I come up with Update: I came back on 08/13/22 and everything went well. The store management did take customers’ feedback and made some significant improvements. The safety, food quality, and customer service were excellent. Please keep it up, and thank you to all Safeway employees."
