Creative Countertops

"Wowza what a terrible experience I had even though Creative Countertops was highly recommended. I worked with a guy named Johnny who is quite charismatic but a horrible communicator. Most companies want your business and will provide you a quote in a timely manner. It took over 2 months to get a quote and that was even after I went in 3 times to ask on the status of the estimate. Lots of excuses of how busy they were. I finally got a quote where I can make some project decisions and agree to move forward. Give them my contractor’s name so they can coordinate timing for the installation of the tile I’ve chosen. We agree on a phased installation plan as I’m living in my home during this remodel. They install the porcelain tile and radiant heat in my entry, half bath and kitchen. Looks absolutely AMAZING! Now for the next phase is the installation of the porcelain tile in the primary bathroom for the floor, tile surround on the shower / tub and tile ceiling lid. Since I had no shower once the demolition of the bathroom occurred, I made arrangements for a hotel. I was told demolition of the bathroom was Wednesday and the tile installation would be that Thursday and Friday. Well no tile installers show up on Thursday nor Friday. Supposedly there was a miscommunication between my Contractor and Johnny at Creative Countertops. I have to make arrangements to extend my stay over the weekend and into the next week at the hotel costing me more money to accommodate the mishap. No apology given or discount offered. Tile installers arrive on Monday (finally) and start the installation. Everything is looking great until I realize that I have no tile lid above the shower. Johnny never informed my contractor or the tile installers that there was supposed to be a tile lid. Everyone convinced me I don’t need a tile lid but again terrible communication and I’ve paid for the tile and labor. After a stern phone call I am offered a refund for this small section of the project but no apology. Last phase of the project is the installation of the backsplash, fireplace mantle and laundry area. The tile installer says to me that he wasn’t aware of the laundry tile installation area and that there is not enough tile for that area. Yes, yes I blew my gasket at this point! Why isn’t there enough tile for an area that I planned for and paid for? Yes I made phone call and no I was not patient, nice nor polite on this call. Why? They tried to blame my contractor for throwing out a box of tile. This is 100% unprofessional and 100% untrue! Magically they find a box of the same porcelain tile in a different city and had it delivered the next day to complete the project. The materials are beautiful and the craftsmanship of installation is amazing but the scheduling and communication from Johnny and Creative Countertops is atrocious. I strongly do not recommend Creative Countertops after my experience."
