Reviews
"I received very good care. And I loved the new dental hygienist who was friendly, caring and good-humored. Please keep her around."
"Edit: addendum below When I arrived today for my 6 month cleaning, I was blindsided by the fact that everything in the office was different, from the decor, to the staff, to the doctor. Unbeknownst to me, the dentist I had been seeing for almost 10 years had decided to shift his practice to more specialized areas of focus and had partnered with a new doctor who took over his general dentistry practice. I missed the one email that went out about this change, but even if I had read it, I don't think I would have understood from the language used that I wouldn't be able to see my old dentist anymore. As I was brought back for my cleaning, I was unexpectedly told that I'd be needing specialty x-rays of the roots of my teeth, an additional expense I hadn't planned for. The hygienist who did my cleaning was kind, but I had water all over my face from the ultrasonic cleaner, something I hadn't experienced before. The suction tube was also not great, and several times when I closed my mouth, water sloshed all over and didn't get cleared by the suction tube. I'm a little torn as to whether or not I will continue on as a patient at this office as I know I will always be comparing my experience to when my old dentist owned the practice. I feel sad that more effort wasn't taken to ensure I knew about the changes that were coming. As someone who has had trauma with regard to dentists, I'm very particular about the dentist I see, and this abrupt change has left me feeling less than cared for by my old dentist. I know this isn't Dr. Lee's fault, but perhaps his office could have given a courtesy call to ensure patients were are of the switch. Definitely a missed opportunity with regard to customer service. Overall, my experience was ok. Dr. Lee seems capable and knowledgeable, but it didn't feel awesome to be surprised like I was when I was already anxious about going to the dentist. Addendum: I received a very kind phone call from Kim, Dr. Lee's wife and office manager. She apologized for my experience and offered to refund the cost of the x-rays I mentioned above. She empathized with me and I really felt heard. I had rescheduled the appointment I had cancelled and my experience was top notch. Antonina was the hygienist who worked on me and she was fantastic. She understood my anxiety and carefully explained everything she was going to be doing. She was straightforward and very informative. See Dr. Lee was great, as well. He thanked me for giving his office a second chance. He's a very gentle, knowledgeable dentist and I'm happy to say that I'll continue going to see him. Thank you Dr. Lee, Kim, and Antonina. I really appreciate you!"
"Man, I really hate to do this, but people need to know. I saw this dentist in...I want to say 2021. He'd bought the practice from my former dentist (who retired), who'd told his patients, "this is MY family dentist." That was a good enough vouch for me. I went for regular checkups, and there seemed to be a brand new staff every time. Everyone seemed like they were just barely holding it together. Given that we were in the midst of a pandemic, I was willing to afford everyone a little grace. Of course everyone was anxious! The cleanings were of varied quality. One hygienist proved to be particularly inept with the sonic cleanser. She kept hitting gum. She blamed it on my flossing. (My periodontal charts are all 1s and 2s, my gums were in fine condition.) She wasn't at my next appointment. Dr. Lee invested in an air purifier to make the practice a safer place to work and visit, and I'm grateful for that. The real problem happened when I lost my filling in a molar. This thing had been in my mouth for over a decade, solid as a rock. I went to Dr. Lee for a replacement, and he upsold me to a porcelain onlay. I have so many regrets about this. When he took the impression for the onlay, he had me reclined in the chair. When you recline, your jaw slides back. Which means that the foam impression was off. He created an onlay out of that bad impression and of course it fit into my upper gum, but my bite was WAY off. So he had to cut away even more of my tooth and redo it. Understanding jaw alignment seems like dental school 101, and to this day I can't figure out how he whiffed it so badly. He assured me that the onlay would last 10 years; it's been 2 years, if that, and my onlay has broken. I've moved out of the area and will be seeing a local dentist, but honestly? Even if I still lived in town, there's no way I'd let this guy do more work in my mouth. I feel compelled to leave this review because he claims to specialize in these kinds of appliances and man, that's not what specialization looks like to me. I never dreaded going to the dentist before Dr. Lee's practice. When I realized one day that I was dreading going for a checkup, I just found a new dentist. 2 stars instead of 1 because he seems to be genuinely kind."
"I had my first appointment with ADANW yesterday. I was seen by not one, but *two* dentists who each independently evaluated my teeth and then compared notes. I've never experienced this before, but I thought it was great; it gave me more confidence that they knew what they were doing (especially since they arrived at the exact same conclusions). Beyond that, it was a pretty ordinary dental experience. They cleaned my teeth; my teeth are now clean. Not much more to say about that."
"Professional office staff and excellent dentist. Dr. Lee took over for Dr. Freeman Harris, who was an awesome dentist. I was concerned at first since I had been going to Dr. Harris since the mid 90s. Dr. Lee and his staff are just as professional, positive and up to date on their technology. I love going into their office. So positive, professional and caring. I’m so happy I didn’t have to change my dentist office. I highly recommend Dr. Lee and his staff to anyone looking for a new dentist or are afraid of wasting their time trying to find a quality dentist."
