Reviews
"Great authentic Chinese food! The portions are so generous! The soup dumplings and pan-fried bao buns are among the best in town. Highly recommended."
"Omg YUM! This place is a wonderfully delicious surprise. Saw it recommended by a neighbor in Nextdoor and decided to give it a shot. It did not disappoint and is a true hidden gem. Our server was sweet and attentive, service was prompt, and the food was exceptionally and shockingly good. We had the egg rolls, wontons in chili sauce, and dumplings. All were done to perfection. The egg rolls are the best I’ve ever had - hot, crisp, not greasy, and wonderfully flavorful. The decor is humble and the atmosphere comfortable. Treat yourself here next time you are craving a good and savory comfort meal."
"Update: They have a variety of dishes to choose from. Their cook is talented and fantastic. I have tried out most of the dishes. The following is a more detailed review. S tier(exceptionally delicious. Some are hard to find in other restaurants) : Stir fried beef (dine in for the best flavor) Double cooked pork belly Scallion pan cake Changsha stinking tofu (authentic special Changsha street food) A tier(excellent) : Braided pork belly with preserved vegetables Special cauliflower Beef fried rice Pan fried bun/dumplings Steam fish fillet Boiling fish Sauteed pork belly with hot pepper Sliced beef over rice Fish fillets in hot chili oil Good (you can find comparable ones in other restaurants): Shredded pork with sweet bean sauce Braided beef rice noodle (good flavor, but the beef is a bit too chewy) Sweet fermented soup ball (cheap delicious dessert) Others: Brown sugar bun (the old version was s tier. It was soft and super delicious. The new version is okay. It is a bit too dry.) Egg custard bun (it is okay. The filling is too dry. You can find better ones in other restaurants.) Brown sugar rice cake (the rice cake is wonderful. It is sticky and soft. However, the brown sugar sauce is a bit bitter.) Wuhan hot dry noodle (it is spicy and numb. It is more like a Sichuan flavor dish. It is delicious. But it is not authentic Wuhan hot dry noodle. Wuhan hot dry noodle does not use Sichuan pepper.) Seaweed salad (it is wakame. It is not the kind of seaweed I expect.) Noodles with homemade hot sauce (it is tasty. But it is not the authentic North China noodles with homemade hot sauce.) Old review: I have tried most Chinese restaurants in the Great Seattle area. This restaurant deserves a 6-star. The food is authentic, fresh, high quality and exceptionally delicious. My favorite dish is the stir fried beef rice bowl. It is flavorful and spicy. Their service is great too. Strongly recommend."
"Usual menu but unusual and very authentic Chinese food, and new items are adding up to the list. If you are having difficulty making your choice, the Xiao Long Bao is not to be missed. And the roasted tea duck is always our favorite. The owners, native Hunan Chinese and many years of cook experience, are themselves making your food, along with an old chef with Sichuan cuisine restaurants. A lengthy conversation with the owner couple today I learned that they are finding the best materials and if anything unavailable locally they import the best quality stuff from China. Food also comes in good quantity so we had to pack up most of our dishes home today."
"You might drive past this hole in the wall all the time and think you should stop but don’t. I’m here to tell you you MUST try the dumplings here. It seems expensive but you get what you pay for, more dumplings AND these handmade dumplings are delicious and not too salty. The service is right on and when we went for my dads birthday last night they brought out a surprise longevity noodle dish for him. It was so sweet and unnecessary but they did it anyway. Also the fact that they have dim sum is a bonus. Get the xiao long bao, scallion pancakes, pan fried pork buns and the green beans, you won’t regret it"
