"To say it was bad it’s an understatement. The food was just blah, nothing special. However the service is what I will focus on. The waitress who attended us seemed annoyed and like she did not want to be there. We got soup spoons for the tea and the initial sorbet, yes one spoon for both you read that right. It’s tea house, where’s the tea spoons? Also, no knives to spread the jams. Speaking of jams, we ordered three Grand Lady and one Little Darling which is the kid’s meal. The 3 Grand Lady’s we ordered come with 3 jams/sauces of your choice and the Little Darling has about 3 sandwich options to choose from. The waitress forgot to ask what my daughter’s sandwich option would be and just assumed and brought her the pb&j. I did not complain about it for two reasons: 1) the food had taken a long time to come out and 2) since I also forgot to mention it to her, I decided to not make a big deal of it. In all honesty, both our kids and I don’t like pb&j so most likely would’ve gone for the ham mayo. However, isn’t it the waitress job to ask and not just assume due to allergies? Anyhow, a gentleman brought out the food and no one brought the jams/sauces ordered for a while. My husband eventually went up to the front to tell the waitress we were still waiting on the jams and once again she seemed annoyed to be bothered. Once we were ready to pay, my husband had to go out of the room (we were sat at the Alice In Wonderland room) to get the waitress’s attention. Although the rooms were charming, the vibe felt cold, indifferent, and just off. In conclusion, I was excited about this place, it was such a disappointment. I’ve been to multiple high tea locations and this one by far was the worst."
"I love this place! We took our friend’s daughter there for her 14th birthday and the staff was wonderful! They accommodated my dairy allergy with delicious food. The teas were exquisite! Love this place! We will be back!"
"Gorgeous atmosphere, every room has a different theme and the plates are delicious. Hawaiian Orchid tea with Carmel sauce covered scone. Perfection!!!"
"Used to love this place but I will not be coming back. The last couple times I’ve been here it has not been cozy or comforting. There is no music and the ambient lighting is very sterile. It’s cold and unwelcoming. There are only 2 employees and they don’t clean up after tables leave, they leave food sitting there. The host doesn’t smile and doesn’t seem happy to have customers. The owner is extremely unorganized and forgot our order. There was no soap or hand towels in the restroom. A couple of years ago when the old owner was running this place it was amazing and warm but I couldn’t say the same now. It’s not worth your time and money."
"Worth every cent! The chicken pecan salad sandwich is my favorite! But the turkey pesto sandwich was an unexpected pleasure to taste, I would never have thought of putting pesto on a sandwich but this was truly delish! The chicken caesar salad was perfectly balanced with the dressing to lettuce to cheese to crouton to chicken ratio and worth going for just that alone. The scones, now let me tell you about these scones: dense but warm and the perfect amount of crumbly dougheyness with a citrus glaze on top and add some strawberry jam, girrrrrrl let me tell you what, amazing, absolutely phenomenal. I have never enjoyed scones so I walked in super skeptical and oh man I am a HUGE FAN! I love the presentation of the tiered scrumptious morsels, made me feel uber fancy and the shop was so clean and organized and appeared high class (though my norm is usually sweats and a tshirt) enough for me to decide to dress up for my youngest daughter's 7th birthday with her grandmother and sister. The place made my OCD happy with it's cleanly organization and it was satisfying walking in to see all the teacups and teapots. Make a reservation because you will not regret it. No hovering servers or rush to be assembly lined. Plan to be allowed to take your quality time and enjoy each other. Plus my kiddo accidentally spilled her tea, staff asked her if she was okay and acted like it was no biggie, got us some extra napkins, wet cloth to wipe up the sticky sugary tea, and quickly Swiffer'd up the floor and wiped down her seat. Best tea house around. I really like that the reciept states exactly what was ordered so that I can keep track of all the teas I have/haven't tried. Also, FAIR WARNING, LEARNING EXPERIENCE: letting a 7 year old have caffinated black tea was not in my best interest and I urge you moms out there to prepare for some non-stop motor mouth white noise on the way home that may pause a time or two for you to say, "uh huh," so they know you are listening. Just mentally prepare yourselves for that, or avoid it. I unfortunately didn't think to convince her of another of the 100's of choices thinking, "it's her birthday, let's spoil her some," yeaaah, I'm not making that mistake twice, I still have no idea what she said on the way home that day because she was like Windows 10 to my Windows 95 with dial up internet and floppy drive."
