"I had an absolutely awesome experience. Both employees were incredibly friendly, helpful with sage fit advice, and seemed just as excited as I was about the product and process—all while helping multiple shoppers simultaneously. Can’t recommend more highly."
"I had a fantastic experience at Self Edge Portland yesterday, can't say enough good things about the staff, their selection and the support I received. Admittedly I was a little hesitant at dropping so much for a pair of jeans, but when you see/feel the quality of the clothing you're buying, you know why. I miss the days of brick and mortar shops where the staff actually know what they're doing--this place harkens back to that experience. Farbod is a jean savant (hehe), he was able to steer me in the right direction almost instantly based on my input, and Barom(n?) gave helpful, thoughtful advice throughout my longwinded decision making process. This store is highly recommended."
"This place, and Homer in particular, is the best. Extremely knowledgeable about fits and fabrics and I love how cleanly organized everything is. I bought three pairs of jeans, a denim jacket, and a few shirts there over the past year and I’m very happy with the service and products that they provided."
"For those of you who want to skip to the punchline: This place is worth it. You get what you pay for. Stop procrastinating and just check it out. It took me about a year or so to actually bite the bullet and check this place out. So i get it. It's an hour away for me- So it wasn't a tough decision to choose to put off coming in, since that's a long way to drive one way for clothing... or is it? To quote the guys from Red Clouds Collective clothing: "Buy it nice or buy it twice" "Better with time" Nowadays anyone can buy a product online. Brick and morter stores are almost obsolete. Almost. You go to a place like this to find the perfect pair of pants- shirt- jacket- the right fit- the right fabric- the right cut- and the stafff at Self Edge are so casually good at helping with this. Although the shop is tiny- you are not smothered with help if you don't want it, but if you do want it- get ready for a tailor like expertise in fits- I spent years buying denim online, measuring myself, my favorite clothing- hoping each time the item would arrive and it would fit the way I wanted. Only to find something wrong with it, it wasnt quite right... so the pursuit continued. $$$$ later... and selling things online when I couldn't stand letting it just sit in the closet anymore...I gave in and checked out this shop. I found the fit I was looking for. In a brand I had not tried- it was worth the price tag. Trust me. Invest in less stuff. Don't buy 10 pair of pants you like 60%- but 3 pair you like 99%. This is the place."
"A couple years ago I just blindly walked into the shop and asked the clerks what the deal is with Japanese denim and they took their time to explain why people appreciate it so much. I tried on some jeans and was blown away at how well they all fit and the level of detail put into it's construction. The guys who work here instigated what will be a lifelong interest in higher quality heritage wear. For real, the guys here really know what they're talking about and they will give you some of the best advice for anything you're interested in. They have never bothered to try and sell me anything, and have rather just aided me with information that I was already looking for. If you ask them what size t shirt you should wear or what cut of jeans would compliment you best, they will immediately nail it with the perfect fit. I cannot recommend this shop enough"
