"It’s a cute and warm place! I love their ochatsuke and nigiri! Especially recommend the Mentaiko Special nigiri! It’s grilled to perfection, imbued with the smoky aroma. For the ochatsuke, I had unagi topping with green tea broth. It tastes really good. Agedashi tofu is not bad, but a little salty. Chicken karaage is delicious! Overall. It’s good and cheap, definitely worth to try!"
"Interesting Japanese food establishment. Specialized in ochasuke and onigiri. We had the day's special ochasuke with raw octopus pieces. It was good. We sometimes have ochasuke at home, so we wanted to try it at restaurant. They put some veggie, seaweed, shiso leave and wasabi with the octopus. Tasted wonderful. The dashi was good. The onigiri were also good and fresh. The yaki onigiri is crusty on the outside, I saved half to eat with the dashi soup. Overal it's interesting. They only open for 2 hrs for lunch on Saturday when we went."
"It is more rare to find a Japanese restaurant focused on non-sushi/bento items here in North America so for the specialty factor alone I think this place is worth trying. The service and quality of food was excellent. I loved both the butter Yaki and Special Mentaiko onigiri. The grilled/charred flavor of the cheese paired with mentaiko gave it a bold and unique flavor. I also ordered the Oyako Ochazuke with original dashi broth. This was alright in my opinion but a bit plain and one dimensional in flavour. If I were to order ochazuke again I would definitely order it with green tea instead of dashi."
"First time trying out an onigiri restaurant, and everything was excellent! Highly recommend going with a group so you can try as many dishes as possible. All the food pairs really well with drinks, and they have a great selection of drinks to choose from!"
"Get there before the rush all parties must be present before being seated. Food was very good. The ume onigiri was delicious and loved the salted salmon ochazuke. Both highly recommended. The cheese onigiri was different but surprisingly good. Not overly cheesy. Had a chance to try the katsu don, nice and crispy served over hot rice. The piri kara buta bara don was specially good as well. The oyako don was delicious too. Our luncheon was so yum, we rolled out happy and full!"
