"DONT WORK HERE OR FOR ANY TJX COMPANY. If I could give a zero star I would. The management here at the lakewood location is disgusting. Multiple times I have overheard managers talking about their employees, saying horrible things, complaining about small things, how their employee looks and dressed, complaining about an employee who uses they/them pronouns. Getting upset over how long lines are and behing understaffed while not actively trying to help what so ever. I would avoid shopping here or ever working at this location like the plague. There's a reason this location is always hiring... and this is why. I cant believe management, especially the store manager, i think her name is Daniell?(probably spelt her name wrong) I watched while waiting in line telling someone they couldn't accept a return, with tags and receipts, because they went to wash brand new bedding and it instantly came out destroyed. The return policy is right behind the registers! The item didn't get used, just washed like everyone does (should do) when buying new bedding or clothes. So unprofessional. Highly highly disgusting, disappointed, and overall never shopping at that location or possibly ever with any tjx company again. This isn't the first tjx company I've seen management in the presence of customers talk horribly about their employees and customers."
"I requested to take my own hangers off of the shirts I was purchasing. The cashier insisted on helping as she did she pulled to stretch out all the neck collars by pulling on it to take out the hangers. I'm someone who does not like a stretched out collar. By dropping the hangers through the botton of the shirt it prevent unwanted tears or stretched out collars. Cashiers should really take care of items customers are purchasing. I will be making sure I remove everything before heading to the line."
"The store shows their return policy on a wall behind me, the manager refused to take an item back with the receipt bc I had decided to wash the item before ever using it and the item ripped apart. She stated she couldn't "resell" the returned item (bedding.) Who in the world wants to buy prebought/returned bedding? I stated that the return policy was behind her and she stated that she didn't care what the policy was. I'm out 80$ with a comforter that's all ripped to hell after 1 single wash on the delicate cycle. The bedding never once touched my bed. Terrible customer service and a poor excuse for a manager."
"I go to this Marshall’s probably twice a week. No issues and I love the comforting staff. I just wanted to say one thing about specifically last night. It was a very busy shift hence being close to the holidays and all. But my cashier was very… how do i say this… high. Her eyes couldn’t open to greet me and not a single word came out of our encounter. I accidentally cancelled my transaction and asked if I could redo it and that i apologize. She just stared off and said a very delayed “mhmm”. I respect it and all, but not at work on a busy day please. Love you guys"
"The elderly men they hire as security leave much to be desired. They can barely move around and are constantly grumpy. I went in 20 minutes to close [didn't plan on stopping there but couldn't find what I needed at other stores] and I knew it would only take a minute to see if they had what I needed. The old man attempted to waddle over quick enough to cut me off, but failed in his attempt to do so, so he shouts at me "we close in 10 minutes" [a blatant lie since I had JUST checked the time]. They didn't have what I needed, so I made my way to the exit where old man tried to stop me AGAIN. At this point I was beyond irritated so I just responded with "yeah people leave without paying when THEY DIDNT FIND WHAT THEY WERE LOOKING FOR" and left. I won't be returning. Ross already lost my business and now Marshall's has followed suit. I personally spend hundreds a month at these places on just my family. I can't imagine how much business they've lost overall behaving this way recently."
