"Subpar bland breakfast food. Kinda pricey for the portions and flavors presented. Coffee was underwhelming. Atmosphere was relaxed though. Staff were friendly by WA standards. Certainly worst places in Tacoma. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone however."

"Sofie is the new owner, so there are a lot of changes being implemented. I enjoyed it because it has an old diner feel and it's open to all people to come in. It's a small business, which presents its own challenges, however when there is a change or feedback they are open to it. My favorite food there is hard, I enjoyed the Waffles and customizing, but I will say the stacks for sure. The employees there make it special, and the opportunity to help grow young employees to their career paths made my time there enjoyable. I think you can expect what you get there, its a diner feel that has a great community vibe, and it makes it special. Its hard to rate food, it says what it is it warming up food. I love to dress things up but it's food and it reheated and it also uses local business and others to support the economy. I love that. If you're a student, on the go need a quick meal to prep when you can't do it all, because no one can, it's a great stop in. I also love how passionate everyone is about the work. There are some really unique and cool people here and I very much can say it was also one of my favorite places to work at because of it."

"Red Elm is the restaurant I never skip visiting when I’m in Tacoma. It’s a warm, welcoming place with great drinks and great food. The drinks are stand-outs (I like the cappuccino particularly) but the food is good and a good value. I’ve had a couple of different sandwiches and a couple of soups, and they’ve all been great. I’m not big on desserts, but people I know have tried them have also recommended them. Keep an eye out for the community events, too - the Saturday morning chess club is great."

"The place is really cozy and all the workers are super chill! The waffle was super good, though personally? I don't have much of a sweet tooth, so I really shouldn't have gotten whipped cream AND chocolate chips on it. But I think it was still super good, just too rich for me (my own fault really). As soon as I sat on the couch, it pleasantly caught me off guard how comfortable it was and how I just sunk into it"

"This place gives me chill vibes. It’s cute, it’s not too big, not too fancy. It’s a good place for a quick stop to meet for lunch. They serve soup, sandwiches, and some pastry. The menu is not overwhelming. They don’t have a private parking lot however, there’s tons of street parking available. The service is quick and the people are friendly. So you order at the counter and then they bring the food to you. I really like that concept because then you do t have to wait for them to come to your table to take your order and can have separate checks if you choose to. The price is very good I believe I spend less than $20 for myself."
