"The first lady to help me was a doll. She helped me with sizes, outfit for an upcoming wedding, discussed my weight loss. Just a dynamite gal. The lady to check me out, assumed I was a thief and told me as such unless I had another means of payment, when I tried to use my partners (a male) card to pay. He had given me his Maurice card to buy something for the up coming wedding, and a few other things. When I ran the card to pay, she asked for my name, not id, and I told her, she then said it didn't match the card. I explained yes that is my partners name, she then asked fir his social security number, I got flustered and said I don't have it memorized, she than said, if I was going to use a stolen (mind you it was handed to me by my partner and never reported stolen) she was going to call the police. I asked another associate for her help and told them I cod pay with my debt card and the lady who told me I was using a stolen card asked was that stolen too. I just asked the third lady to finish ringing me up. I will not go back to The Dalles Maurices again. Other locations. We have to see"
"I have to say i started shopping there a couple months ago and the staff and manager have been amazing. They are so welcoming and helped me pick out a new work wardrobe. Such great customer service. They are an asset to the company and our community"
"I have to say that the Maurices on HR was the gem of the gorge . Where my first pair of Maurices jeans for like a glove Roll forward in time with the Hood River Maurices Closed and replaced with an AutoZone it's predessor of the Dalles that is lacking everything that a steadfast Maurices shopper has to offer. Absolutely nothing ! To who hired as their most recent stylist who if nothing has no sense of the Maurices look but has the look of discombobulated styles and patterns that don't match a single Maurices item to date , leggings with God awful tops. Management looks bored and up to no good . I can see why they are hiring a whole new team Hopefully ones that brings Maurices back to life . Because if not I fear that this will be the end of this Maurices in the Dalles ."
"I'm not giving this store a 1 star because I was unhappy with the service, per se. It's a lovely store with beautiful clothes that cater to women of all sizes, which is something I appreciate as someone with a bit more curves. I am, however, very disappointed with their interviewing process and would never consider working for this location again. I was invited to interview a couple of weeks ago, and during the initial interview I was invited for a second interview, this time with someone over the phone at a different location. We scheduled for a Tuesday but, because my interviewer had that day off, we rescheduled for Wednesday. Wednesday finally came, and I waited by my phone for a phone interview that I never received. My phone had not rang once, and I became very frustrated because I told them my schedule and I was due for work at any moment. Not only had they not called at the time they were supposed to, they never called at all. I brushed it off as maybe they were busy, only for another day to go by with no phone call. I finally got a hold of Shelby, the person I had my first interview with, and she told me that my second interviewer called multiple times, but I didn't answer. I explained to her that I sat by my phone all day and it had. Or rang once. She then proceeds to tell me, "Well, yeah, she tried to leave a voicemail but your voice mailbox was not set up." "Well, that's funny," I said "because when you called me for an interview you left me a message on my answering machine." She then begins to rush me off of the phone and says, "Well, I'm the only person on the sales floor right now, so can I call you back?" By this time I wanted to tell her to just forget it and to not consider me for the job, but I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. Days pass with no follow up call, and it wasn't until around last week that I got a message on my machine from Shelby at Maurice's asking me to come in for an interview, only this message sounds like something that would be left for someone who had never interviewed at the establishment. I called back and asked for Shelby, informing her that I received her message and that I've already interviewed with her and was still waiting for a second interview. "Ohhhhh yeah!! I was calling you to let you know that I'm going to talk to the person that was supposed to interview you to see if she can reschedule." More days go by, still no phone call. I did, however, receive a nice email thanking me for considering Maurice's as a career choice, however I was not someone that they were looking for. To make a long story short, I am highly disappointed that I had to go through this just for employment. The situation was, obviously, very unorganized and I felt misled. I felt that Shelby lied to me about the second interviewer calling me multiple times, and I thought that it was very irritating to receive another message from her asking for an interview as if she'd never met me before. Although I do love the clothing, Maurice's in The Dalles will not receive any of my money, and I will never consider this location for any type of job position. I felt that my time was wasted."
"Trendy clothes for women. It's a small store but nice to be able to pick up something on trend on the fly. They have a small plus size section for the curvy ladies. They also carry accessories and shoes. Prices can be a little high but usually have decent sales and clearance can be dirt cheap."
