"To begin, I’m a multi-generation local. I’ve had numerous friends and family seek out products and services from Stan since the very beginning of his business. Alas, Stan isn’t usually isn’t your service man anymore. The guy who likes to pretend to be Stan is someone I wouldn’t recommend hiring to tie his own shoes let alone’repair’ a failing appliance. He is perfectly capable of writing extensive illegitimate invoices. I’m sure Biden would find him to be an asset. Now, I personally do not hover when a person is working, I hate it, you hate it, so this is basic mutual respect. My oven door basically just came apart. A newer oven Mind you. I am not an inept fool so obviously I rebuilt the door, only for it to fail again. Service man arrives, filled in on the issue. THIS GUY REBUILT THE DOOR JUST AS I ALREADY HAD !! NOT EVEN A NEW SCREW USED !! Now, do you think that he has maintenance magic or do you think that the exact same failure occurred just as it had two times before. Your so smart!! Smarter than The ‘Stan stand-In’! I EVEN COMMENTED THAT IT ONLY TOOK HIM TEN MINUTES!?! TEN!! The Service call was $75 baseline, apparently my stripped screws were quite rare , possibly dipped in gold because they too rendered an invoice that would make any blue collar worker spit. $150 for ten minutes of utterly insulting my intelligence. Something he clearly knows nothing about. His repair job was the Royal red carpet for the words’ you need a new oven’ . My Mother, also my landlord, WENT IN AND PERSONALLY QUESTIONED AND COMMENTED ON THE AFOREMENTIONED ISSUE. ONLY TO BE TOLD IT IS WHAT IT IS! We were both shocked and appalled!!! How dare they!!! When I do my job, I am able to use words to articulate what I have completed and why and how I did so. It is what it is. Quoted. Period. Being a small town girl and anti -China, we are the first people to pay more or to wait when another major corporation is selling instant gratification with guarantees, ALL WITH THE INTENTION OF TRULY REPRESENTING AND SUPPORTING OUR COMMUNITY. To truly act on the ethical and moral lessons we were raised by. UNFORTUNATELY, this blatant, sickening and insulting ‘REPAIR’ SERVICE INVOICE, coupled with BOTH OF THE EMPLOYEES DISGUSTING, LAZY AND SLOPPY REPRESENTATION OF ‘SERVICE’ (Secretary and the Stan ‘stand-In’, Stan should have been consulted, period. They are representing what he has worked much harder than either of them ever will to build what he has) I WOULD URGE ABSOLUTELY EVERYONE TO SEEK A TRUE SOLUTION ANYWHERE BUT HERE!! This is beyond anger or ego, IN FACT THIS OCCURRED NEARLY TWO YEARS AGO NOW. It was only when a friend in need of repairs phoned me did I truly believe that it was absolutely necessary to WARN my fellow community members. I’m no Karen, in fact I’m beyond annoyed that my hand was forced to ‘review’ a service that wasn’t even truly done. I will also update the review when I can actually properly label by legal name the lazy Lurch like scammer repair man. And , Lurch, You sir should be ashamed of yourself, it’s painful to think that a Home Depot sitting in place of your building is something the community would actually BENEFIT FROM. For shame!! BEST OF LUCK TO EVERY OTHER PERSON IN OUR COMMUNITY, IF YOUR READING THIS YOU ARE OBVIOUSLY IN NEED! Pay less? Guarantee ? Lowes, Home Depot, some kid out of a highschool shop class, basically any place but here."
"We initially just went to drop off an oven to recycle and ended up needing to call Stans for help with our 1957 Gibson oven. Stan was incredible and literally talked me through what we were doing wrong. Cannot recommend them enough!"
"I hired Stan's to pick up my old washer and dryer from my home, I was told it would be $10. They canceled my first appt last minute- we rescheduled for 10am the following Monday. This time they said $20, which I still thought was reasonable so i agreed. I noted it down and immediately set an alarm to remind me. I left my house at 8:50 to go get cash to pay them with and run a quick errand. I was back home by 9:30. At 10:15 am, I called to check and make sure they were still coming by. I was told that they came to my home TWICE, and that no one was home. I let them know that they were very early, but it happens, and tried to reschedule. Stan said that the appt was scheduled for 9:30am, and that's what time they were there. if I wanted him to come back on another day that it would be $50 now- I'm a single mom barely making ends meet- I could barely afford the $20 they had already raised it to. I reviewed my notes from the scheduling call- they said 10 am. My alarm reminder that I set while I was on the phone with them said 10 am. I reviewed my security cameras and saw that they actually showed up at 9 am, rang the doorbell a bunch of times, and left immediately. They did not come back again as they stated. They were an hour early, and then had the audacity to argue with me about when they showed up. The whole experience was frustrating, disappointing, and incredibly unprofessional. I definitely won't ever be hiring them again for ANYTHING."
"Last week Called to get our dryer repaired because it sounded like a bearing had gone loose in the drum. Knowing that things are slow and rather backed up due to COVID, I was happy that they could squeeze me in within a few days. The tech showed up quickly, and early. He went right to work. Looking inside the dryer, it took him 10 minutes to fix my dryer. I wish I caught the techs name. This was a stand up service, quick and efficient. I'll definitely be calling Stan's for future appliance repairs!!!"
"We called Stan's to fix our refrigerator. They came (an hour later than scheduled). Diagnosed the problem, left and stated they would call me back first thing in the morning with total cost of repairs for parts and labor. Never called. I called them, I was told the technician would call me back... No call.... Called the next day, same song and dance... no return call from the technician. 6 phone calls and no return calls, I have moved on. For years, Stan's had been my go to for repairs. I have since taken my business to a company that is NOT LOCAL! That is sad. I try and shop local but these local companies don't want the business. You'd think that Stan's would have been returning my calls and completed the repairs as they were adding the $100 service call to the final bill for repairs. All of which their company is out. This has gone on for 4 months. 4 months too long. If you want reliable appliance repair with great customer service and returned phone calls, give Tony's Appliance & Repair your business. They are very professional and not sketchy at all!"
