"Good holiday selection. Very friendly checkout staff. 12/2023 - this close to Christmas (10 days) and I would think the discounts would be a bit deeper, but I shouldn't expect too much from a store owned by Kroger. 03/2024 - lowering to 3 stars. It's a Kroger thing - prices are significantly higher than WinCo, but Kroger has the north Oregon coast by the short hairs. Their mobility scooters are in rotten shape (full charge but die after 20 minutes and can't stay running when leaving the store). Discounts weren't taken a checkout until I complained, and then needed a manager override because all the discounts "looked" like fraud."

"This review is solely for our cashier Madison and the other two young adults that helped bag and pack out groceries tonight. They even separated things properly, didn't put cleaning stuff in with food. Which is something no one does anywhere anymore.They were great and very personable. She even reminded my partner about the senior discount today that we were unaware of. She also had B**chen hair. Also it was great that there was a cashier open that late and we didn't have to do self check out like normal! Those three really turned my opinion around. While shopping a man in one of the scooters accidently knocked over a soda display and it went everywhere and blocked the isle. Two separate employees walked part way down the isle and when they saw us helping him pick all the bottles up, they just turned around and walked down the next isle instead of offering to help... Those three though really turned it around and made it a positive experience."

"Big clean well stocked safe good hours good location fresh food fair prices. Has all the departments from garden to automotive, and all the grocery sections from bakery to deli. Much of the parking lot is sloped though, making it tough to take your hands off your shopping cart to load your groceries without having it roll away."

"We found a sale on instant pot here. They beat Walmart on price. Make sure you check their app to see you're getting the best deal. After getting home, we realized we could have saved another 10 dollars on that instant pot."

"I love shopping at this Fred Meyer location in Astoria, the aisles are always so clean. On my most recent visit they we're out of something I came in for, the employee was so helpful in helping me where it would have been. I had no wait time when I checked out at checkout. I will say their pricing can be confusing at times though."
