"I am unfortunately disheartened by my recent experience at Hound Huddle...My 1-year-old husky/shepherd mix, who quickly adapted and loved attending doggy daycare, was asked to leave because she learned to open their gates. The staff acknowledged this has happened with other dogs, making it even more frustrating. It feels incredibly unfair that my intelligent and non-aggressive dog is being penalized. She has never shown aggression towards other dogs, and it's sad that she now can't return to a place she enjoyed. I wish Hound Huddle would address the gates, find a resolution, and ensure that intelligent dogs like mine are not unjustly excluded from a daycare. Lastly, I want to recognize that my dog is not the sole escape artist or curious canine. Many breeds share these traits, and I think all doggy daycares should accommodate the diversity of dogs they serve, preventing unnecessary exclusions based on natural behaviors."
"Fantastic doggy daycare. They take such good care of the pups in their care and my dog loves going. The process to get approved was very easy and quick. I love that they take such great care to make sure the dogs joining their daycare are well-behaved. I don't have to worry about my dog's safety when I leave her in their care for the day."
"We took our 11 month old large breed dog there briefly. They started out saying she was really sweet and great, then after the 3rd time there they said she was no longer a good fit due to an interaction with a smaller dog they had included in her play group. Our dog has been in daycare since she was a small puppy and we have always made a point to make sure she is extremely socialized with all kinds and sizes of dogs and people - mostly due to people's misconception about her breed. She has never had an issue in previous daycares. This daycare only separates dogs by play style and not size. Beware if you plan on taking your large breed dog there cause they will likely make it seem like your dog is the issue vs them not knowing how to appropriately group dogs for playing and monitor them. Would not recommend this place!"
"Very surprised by recent negative reviews. My (young, active) golden has gone to daycare at Hound Huddle for the past year and a half. Going by her behavior (tail wagging furiously, bouncing up to the door) she has a grand time. I like the fact that staff are careful about which dogs attend--not all dogs enjoy doggy daycare, not all dogs do well in a more open setting daycare. A friend's dog recently "failed" the initial evaluation: after a trial period the dog seemed unhappy and a little overwhelmed . Staff at Hound Huddle suggested a different daycare facility that divided dogs into smaller groups, and my friend's dog seems much happier in this smaller setting. Kudos to Hound Huddle for trying to ensure a good fit! I am quite sure Hound Huddle has never used a muzzle to prevent barking (I observed, also asked them directly). They may have used a gentle leader--this is not a muzzle!--to help reduce anxiety; a gentle leader includes a narrow strap around a dog's snout, it does not in any way limit drinking, panting, or barking... except to reduce barking that may be linked to anxiety. Gentle leaders are widely used by trainers and experienced owners."
"My puppy dog loves going to daycare here and hang out with all of his friends! He has learned a lot about socializing with people and other dogs from his experience at The Hound Huddle. The staff is amazing and it is so cute the way he adores and respects them. I'm glad he is part of their pack."
