"I bought a 4 wheeler from a guy that had a lien on it through this bank. I went to the bank with him to get the title and fulfill his loan. Not only would they not release the title to me, they wouldn't mail it to me, they had to mail it to the original owner. As anticipated the guy constantly "forgets" to mail it to me. This is the only bank I've dealt with that handles liens like this. I've never had an issue buying something and not getting the title the same day. Would not recommend doing anything with this company."
"Would be 0 stars if possible. Worst bank, I have ever worked with in my entire life. Horrible record keeping, and when they make a mistake, they will tell you it's your fault and do nothing to help. Be sure to verify any payments you make towards loans and mortgages. They have a tendency to accept payment and not apply all or some of the payment towards the actual balance. Who knows where those funds go. I regret ever doing business with them. I have even had their own employees state they won't even bank with Marine it's so bad! They should not be allowed to be in business at all. Stay away from them if you can!"
"If I could leave a 0 star review I would. I have never been to a bank so unwilling to give you money you have in your account. They will put your money on hold without notifying you. They will not give an explanation as to WHY they hold your money. They decide to hold your money no matter how much you may have in your account and at the most random times. I expect money in my account to stay in my account until I do something with it. I should never have to go pay for something and have it declined knowing I have money but the bank secretly took it. A bank should not have people begging for their money back. I can not wait to close my account here as soon as they give my money back. They come up with so many ways to take from people."
"Not impressed. The process to link an external account to set up automatic transfers was horrific. Like 28 emails, a dozen calls, multiple missed payments and unnecessary paperwork horrible. On top of that, I was given alternative payment methods which were complicated and cost money out of my pocket. I was told IN WRITING the payment would be cost free, but was NOT compensated when I was charged $10 to make a payment over the phone. I chose to double my interest rate to move my loan to a different credit union."
"I banked at Marine Credit Union for almost my entire life until recently. My card was compromised (which I get, it happens!) and the process of getting funds back was ridiculous. I felt like I got a different answer every time I called the support line to figure out how to go about solving the issue and getting my money back. In addition to this, Marine's hours are and always have been horrible if you work a first shift job, the drive thru lanes are always backed up, and the customer service is lackluster as a whole. It didn't always used to be this way, but in the past few years it's gone so far downhill. I switched to another credit union in La Crosse and it has been nothing but a wonderful experience since I walked through the doors to set up an account. If you're looking for a bank or credit union, I'd avoid Marine Credit Union at all costs and find something different."
