She is an absolute expert in her field and so compassionate. Such a high level of intelligence coupled with exceptional bedside manner. Kathy and the other staff were so friendly on the phone and always answered my questions. I would highly recommend Dr. Farrar’s office to anyone and particularly women struggling post partum- there is help!"

With the reference from my OBGYN, Dr Farrar squeezed me in THAT first week (I didn't have to wait) and she got me the support I needed immediately. Just to hide him out and have the first receptionist be exceptionally rude.. Then to go here and have a whole new further isolated bio list is very disappointing. "I visited Dr. Ferrar when she worked at a previous group. She provided excellent care, and was incredibly attentive, and provided much needed clinical empathy. But be wary if you have United Healthcare. This group does not only does not accept United Healthcare, but also the Medicaid HMO, despite the website saying “Medicaid”, and it not being more specific. Finding a MH provider that is accepting new patients in the FV, and one that you already know and trust is even harder. If my primary insurance, VA Care, would pay for me to seek better mental health care outside of their broken system, I would have used that first and I would gladly have switched my HMO to see Dr Ferrar. However, I already changed my HMO to one that is accepted at the Women’s clinic I was referred to last month. I’m having to choose which health care issue is worse to decide which HMO I should go with that is accepted based on the severity of the issue instead. So back to the VA waiting 90 days between appointments, and on a waiting list for an intake appointment at a different MH provider that does accept my HMO."
