"Discovered this preserve on a weekday morning. My maps program took me on a circuitous tour of Belmont trying to locate the trailhead. I recommend using the 2400 Lyalll Way address for street parking at the Lake Road Trail on the northeastern part of the preserve. Alternatively, street parking looked available at the northwestern outlet at Hallmark Drive and Lake Road. Be mindful of trail closures. The trails are multi-use and include hikers, runners, dog walkers, and mountain bikers. I enjoyed an overall peaceful trek through the preserve, including the Lake Road Trail, Lake Loop Trail, John Brooks Trail, and Berry Trail."
"Terrific little park for a easy hiking. Trails are clean and without much elevation. I highly recommend it."
"Great little park with a network of gravel road and single track trails. Nothing is flat, so be prepared for some serious elevation gain. As a runner, it feels like a miniature Marin Headlands."
"Shhhhhh…. Please do not tell anyone! This is a gem of an open trail that offers multiple options. I typically enter this trail from the trailhead off Hallmark in Belmont. Although parking is limited I have never seen it totally full as I have been coming here for a long time. There are two Porto-potties” just by the entrance of the trailhead. The trails are not paved and are uneven. The trail that goes straight from the gate is the gentle one and goes about 1.75 miles straight to the end. Along the half way point is the lake to your right with option of taking two narrow trails around the lake and to other parts. Explore and you will love it. Great views and very quiet. Lots of CA native plants. A few benches along the main trails. Some residential homes have their backyards landscaped to join the trail. All in all a nice hidden set of trails in the middle of the Peninsula. Not busy."
"Parking is Limited. Nice Shaded Trail with incline and amazing view of Valley and Bay. Trails had Trees on both side and its good for Run and Bike. Dogs Love the trail as they get to dip in the Lake :) Watchout for Pacific Poison Ivy on the Trails"
