"C'mon, now! I have no problems with homeless people being allowed to be left alone to camp in peace, but being left to overrun public spaces is completely unacceptable. Not just allowed to camp "in the park", but now they've been encouraged by the city to go ahead and set up camp RIGHT ON TOP OF picnic tables and other prime day-use areas. There are literally DOZENS of places to camp in this town THAT ARE NOT intended specifically for children and families to be able to use. What's more, city ordinance states it is unlawful for any overnight camping IN ANY PUBLIC AREA without THE EXPRESS WRITTEN CONSENT of the Mayor naming specific individuals, sites and dates. What that means is that EVERY TIME a police officer sees these tents in the park and doesn't make them move IMMEDIATELY, that officer is in violation of city law and should be issued a criminal citation themselves. Let's start holding our law enforcement accountable for upholding it's own laws and safeguarding the public trust. We need to start mobilizing this truth at city council meetings and such. No more should we stand by and watch our law enforcement ignore public health and safety in the name of "it's too much of a hassle to do the right thing"."
"It is a beautiful setting but the homeless population has essentially taken over the park. Very sad that this is the case but certainly this is a complicated issue nationwide. My wife and I felt uncomfortable walking around the park this morning. Dogs, trash, etc. I'm sure the city of Red Bluff is doing what they can but it is sad."
"This used to be the best place to go in the summer time to cool down on a hot day, now it's a hangout for the homeless with mental issues, lots of tents, lots of littering, and lots of half-naked homeless people yelling obscenities well going from person to person asking for cigarettes or money."
"Stopped to have my lunch here but was a big mistake. Junkies and homeless all about. Just ate in my van and left. Too bad as it seems like it would be a nice park."
"I must say thanks RB the Ducks are back the park is cleaner than it ever was i say ready for all to enjoy. If it were a perfect world we could do more for the people living in the slew God bless um"
