"Talked to someone who promised to send me a Transfer of Afidavit for over a week ago. Nothing. Now, I have left 2 voice mails, a few phone calls hoping to get thru, NOTHING! Does anyone work there?? If I drive there, do you think I can get thru?!"
"1 star is much more generous than need be. Mailed in a title/license plate application, and it's been 4 weeks now, and still haven't heard a thing back. My temporary registration expires in 2 days, and all they can suggest is getting temporary plates. I don't expect they'd be able to get me them in a timely manner either, so now I sit and wait with my paid/insured vehicle, with no means to drive it while the DMV drags their feet on this. To say I'm disappointed would be a HUGE understatement."
"I had very bad experience in 2015 with DOT front desk where licenses are issued. The guy who gave tokens was just handing over token and not saying anything about my questions which I raised politely about the vehicle registration process. He could have at least said he don't know. Instead he resorted to be unresponsive and told me to step aside when nobody was behind me in queue. The guy who was sitting along with him started shouting for no reason and asked me to get out of the building. There is no wonder that there are bad road signs about WISDOT In northern Wisconsin about how intolerant these front desk guys are. I know very good people in WISDOT and been working with them for few years. But the people should know about these kind of behavour."
"I agree with Andy, everyone was very nice and courteous. A woman in line in front of me was greeted and congratulated on her marriage at the reception desk , I was welcomed back home as I registering back to WI, no where was there not a smiling face or helpful hand. The gentleman at my counter was more than happy to complete my forms with me as I was called to the counter quicker than I could finish my paperwork. When all finished, I was literally all finished (completely processed there not forms collected and sent to the state for processing), I left with license plates/title in hand (not mailed 3 weeks later), and all processed within 20 min. Not bad for all new license and registration from out-of-state! My last state only had separate DMV's or "3rd party agencies" that requires you to spend an hour at one center for your license and then drive across town to spend another hour at another center for your registration. Once you are all done you then have to wait 2-3 weeks only to receive everything you just spent what seemed to be half of your day off waiting for. I challenge you to experience a DMV in another state and find an easier process, with a better experience, and more helpful employees like Wisconsin's."
"After reading the other reviews here I was expecting a Soviet-era food-line experience, but I got nothing like that. I visited shortly after opening on a Thursday morning. The building's front desk person was pleasant and directed me to the DMV office with a smile. The reception staff person was polite and quickly handed me a ticket with my number. A display showed which number was being served and at which desk. I waited 10-15 minutes, which seemed very reasonable. When it was my turn, the DMV staff person was professional, helpful, and speedy. Everything went smoothly."
