"My daughter has been a student here for three years now. She has done extremely well academically and socially. They have endless sources for students and make sure everyone has a place. They are college focused and place importance on acceptance, social justice, and personal growth. This school has given her the opportunity to truly grow as a human being. We really love this school!"
"I am currently a 7th grader attending this school. (13) I attended this school last year as well. People get builled & left out here all the time. There's not much school spirit here and the teachers need to discipline the students better. Honestly - the teachers here get annoyed over the little things and can't keep control over the class (this does not go to all teachers but most). Students are disrespectful to teachers and the teachers don't do much about it. Some teachers here are pretty lazy too, some give us a packet without really explaining/teaching much and that it annoys me when they say you didn't read the instructions correctly - We did. You're supposed to teach us the subject and not just give us a packet to do most of the time. Hallways are pretty small and there's always kids blocking up the hallways but there's not much TCA can do about that. The lunch isn't the best, it could be better. I've heard of people getting food poisoning from the lunch but that doesn't happen often. It's hard to make new friends here, atleast from my experience. Last year there were pretty violent fights but that calmed down a bit this year. Overall, TCA isn't the worse school to bring your child to but things could improve for this school. I am hoping to leave next year for a better school experience."
"The only reason to go is for friends. I'm forced to go here because it is close to my school and boasted college readiness. In reality, there are few college readiness options that other schools don't have. There have been many extreme fights this year, and instances where a teacher has had a mental breakdown and started screaming and crying. Students are out of control, and as a ninth grader I can say it is a lot of ninth graders. The clubs are fun, but limited, the teachers play favorites. Racial justice club has been making small leeway to administration about changing some things, but it's small. My friends and I wanted to take polls of how many people want to leave and the results we got were almost all toward leaving. What other school has the tenth and ninth graders wanting to leave so terribly? I know plenty of people who should've been expelled but aren't and shadowing students are warned by most of the student body, freshman to senior, not to come here. Teachers care more about their teaching licenses than students having to go to the bathroom so bad that if they don't they will pee themselv"
"I came to this School in the 6th grade, and I was a member of the senior graduating class of 2017. When I first arrived the school was amazing, the work was rigorous and behavioral issues were practically nonexistent, it truly lived up to the expectations of me and my parents. Over the course of the seven years I spent at the school I noticed a sharp decline in the quality of education that I felt I was being given, and a sharp increase in behavioral issues. Four or five years ago I would have given my school a sparkling review, but after what I personally witnessed this year and last year, I cannot recommend this school to anyone unless some drastic changes are made. In short, don't send your kids to this school."
