"I just called these folks for a quote on replacing the springs on my Abarth 500 and was told labor alone is $820. I’m a mechanic myself, and happen to know this is a ridiculously easy job (1.5 hours work max). I guess if you’re used to catering to wealthy tech-bros this is the result, but for anyone living in the real world I’d recommend looking elsewhere for a less exploitative experience."

"I take it as given that any auto repair shop that tries to charge me more than they should does so because i pass as female. Diagnostic for a strange problem quoted extremely high ended up being reduced. The price to diagnose was still relatively high compared to a Fiat dealer (if any existed on the peninsula) but I value the information that Al provided. I left with a working car and being more knowledgeable. I fix motorcycles and value every bit of information on motor vehicles. Plus Al gave me his time and it was a joy having a conversation, learning, and feeling i could trust his work."
