Reviews of The Icon
"I placed an order, paid around $200, and received a sticker for sending my reels. Doubts crept in when I realized that your website offers ONLY ONE shipping option – the cheapest one WITHOUT a tracking number. The USPS has been unable to deliver my reels (with a very important project) for over a month now, and it seems they are lost. I wonder, did you simply save a few extra hundred dollars by not hiring a programmer to add multiple shipping options? (and let customers decide how much they want to pay for delivery) For instance, people want their reels developed as quickly as possible, and options for two-day delivery or even overnight would have been a much better choice. But no, your website offers only the cheapest mail option. I've lost my reels (and you'll probably say it's my fault), I've also lost $200, and now you have a 1-star review on Google. Perhaps it's not worth mentioning that I have no desire to work with you."
"Just placed my first couple small ticket orders and I can’t say enough wonderful things about my experience with The Icon. I’m pretty clueless about all the expertise and knowledge required to create beautiful prints and the staff here is AMAZING. Stacy is truly the best - so caring and professional and helpful in creating the perfect product no matter how small. She’s been so patient with me ! I’m so happy I made the call and asked questions. Never using “big box” or online print services again. I just love my experience here !"
"As a pro, I've had photos printed all over the nation and indeed the world, and would rate the prints here as: pretty good. I paid a lot, but this was for a small proof run; with a larger order the price would have worked out better per unit. I'm rating Icon so poorly because of the appalling customer service I received. When collecting my order, I was given only half of it, an error I only noticed on returning home. Having to go back for the missing prints the next day punched out my entire morning and meant I had to cancel other appointments I'd made. (For full context: Icon offered to ship it overnight, which was appreciated but would have been even more inconvenient than returning a second time. Which, once again, was in itself massively inconvenient.) I asked to be refunded the value of the order, on the grounds that the value of my time wasted by front desk's mistake was about five times what I'd paid for the prints. There was some listless email volleying for about a week, then ultimately a blunt and frankly arrogant email from a manager, claiming it was my responsibility to check my order before leaving the store. My eyebrow certainly went skyward at this: really? My "responsibility"? Certainly, it is in my interests to do so, but my understanding of a client-supplier relationship is that it is the responsibility of the supplier to fulfill the client's order. Handing client only half of it does not qualify as fulfillment. Please, folks, be aware: if you do business with Icon LA it is apparently your responsibility to check their staff do their jobs properly, not theirs. Steer clear. There are better print options in LA, for less, and with infinitely superior customer service."
"The best! If you want your film to be safe and given back with the best results then Icon is it. I’ve been going here for years and have never been disappointed. The best scans in LA too. Worth everyone penny and the customer service is phenomenal. There’s no other lab I feel safer with!"
"Ordered one 12x18 print on metallic paper from them for a Christmas gift. The print came out great, which is of course the bulk of my rating. There are a lot of aspects of running a good business but the most important is that they do what they are supposed to do, and well. This they succeeded in. The reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the price and the seemingly unorganized nature of the business. Prices are a bit too high compared to other print shops in the area. As far as being organized, my print was supposed to be ready Monday. I called and they said it was still in processing but then she went back and the lab said it was done. Then when I arrived it was another 10 minutes to find the print. Either way, print came out good and if they can just get a little more organized it would be better. It was also the Christmas season so I will be updating this review on a future order when it’s not as busy."
