"I contacted Runnerboys a few hours after wasting time trying to figure out why my email inbox mail count dropped, overnight, from almost 17,000 emails, down to only 175. I use a Microsoft laptop and an iPhone. I wasted hours on Chat with 3 different totally incompetent people at Microsoft. They asked only stupid questions and never understood the issue, and made no effort to do so. No phone support. My domain name, and my email was originally hosted by Godaddy, and I had similar poor experience with them that day. I’m in my 70’s, and pretty savvy on technology issues. I went to Yelp looking for technical support to assist with this issue, and selected Runnerboys due to their excellent reviews and described expertise. Eldad answered the phone, I provided a thumbnail of the issue, which he immediately grasped. He said he could help, and agreed to get started immediately, which I quickly accepted. Related, or perhaps not, I told him I was also hacked by someone from Turkey. I didn’t know if the two matters were connected. Eldad said he would also take steps to close such vulnerabilities. Over a course of several hours, we worked together via his remote access. Long story short, the issue was extremely complicated due to actions likely taken by Godaddy. So, he called them with me on the line, and worked with them on resolving the issue. This Godaddy person was knowledgeable, unlike the first one I reached earlier in the day. Ultimately, 100% of the problem solving was done by Eldad. It was quite complicated, more so than originally anticipated. He had an amazing grasp of the problems, and the solutions, but it took time to work it all out. It was almost 8:00 pm before the matter was solved, and he worked tirelessly for about 3 hours. His speed on the keyboard, and knowledge of all systems was incredible. Simultaneously, with addressing the email problems, he addressed any possible security issues, and created a much more secure setup. Throughout the process he explained what he was doing, and why. When we hung up, we saw that my emails were being restored, as older emails began to populate my inbox. He noted my backups of old files, and backed up other emails to have if needed. By morning my 16,000 plus emails were fully restored and operational on Outlook, 365, and my iPhone Mail program. The next morning I got a courtesy phone call from Lisa in their office, making sure all was well. The service was excellent; service you will likely not find elsewhere. I strongly recommend the service of Runnerboys."
"Highly recommend! Eldad has very good customer service and communication. He worked hard in determining my issue in a time constraint I had. Would recommend to family and friends."
"I'm a student at UC Irvine and took my laptop to them to get my laptop battery replaced. They are not very prompt in answering messages, and I had to retext them after a couple of days sometimes. However, the process of replacement went smoothly and they were kind enough to do my installation for free. The new battery works well so far."
"I recently stopped in to have them help me with a screen covering for my iphone 13. I actually had an extra screen covering and wanted to use it but pay them for their time to put in on my iphone. I met Michelle, one of the owners, she was a delight! I shared what what it was that I needed and totally understood that she might ask me to purchase a screen savor from her. She went above and beyond and taught me how to clean my screen and carefully lay the screen cover on top of my screen. She wanted me to see how to do it so I could do it myself next time. It was wonderful to see a business go out of their way to help me free of charge! Thank you Michelle!"
"I used to work in IT for a handful of years, so am well versed in computer repair, but did not have the time to repair my computer at the moment, so I thought I'd offload the work to Runnerboys. And I was astonished at how incredibly poor the service was. Thought my Motherboard was fried, but didn't have the components or time to run my own diagnostics on it. Took it in, the ticket I was given stated 5 days later was when I could expect this resolved. Cut to 3 weeks later, I had not heard a word. The lack of communication is truly mind-boggling. I requested an update multiple times on my ticket over these 3 weeks and received no response. I called the store and received no response. Or was told I would be called back the next day multiple times (never was). Then I came back here to really look at the reviews, and all the 1 star reviews experienced the exact same issues I had. I got so little response that I just showed up at the store and demanded my PC back. Paid $40 for them to just hold on to my computer for 3 weeks apparently, then replaced the motherboard myself and it works fine. I don't know what's going on here, but SLAs (service level agreements) are really not enforced, and you risk not getting your computer back unless you force the issue. I would've been fired from multiple jobs if I displayed the same level of response and communication Runnerboys does. Please avoid."
