Palomarin Beach

"NOT EASY to access for kids, not accessible, but great tide pooling. To access the beach from the main trail, you have to go down a crumbling rock path using a rope. Not kidding, not even a rope ladder, just a rope. For an adult or teenager, this isn't a HUGE deal, but people with surf boards and, myself with a 3 year old in my arms, it was very challenging and my 9 year old hurt herself doing it on the way out. Also there's a lower parking lot with what appears to be a "shortcut trail" that goes to the beach, but again, wouldn't recommend it for people with kids or older people or those with disabilities, it's not REALLY a trail, more of a path that sort of works. I've been to much more accessible places, even Shell Beach with it's chain/log ladder was better to access. That said, it's very pretty and remote so if you're doing tide pooling it's a lovely spot, I guess. And it looked like people liked surfing there, too."

"Very scenic beach. Rocky sand isn't very fine. Not a lot of people go here - foot prints on the beach are few and far between. The trail to get here is only about 1-mile from the main Palomarin trail head parking area. I ended up going here by mistake while returning from Alamere Falls. I did not discover the length of beach, but it is fairly vast."
