"*I'm technically local and want to stay objective in this review. I would recommend the Better Business Bureau reviews* It seems there are little options to get ahold of the repair team unless you can drop in locally. Their online ticketing rep, does their best to coordinate, but the repair team at the shop are not very communicative regarding updates. I dropped my 3090 card off at the height of the 12vhp melting connector debacle. Was given an estimate time frame of 6-8 weeks. Considering my specific issues, the initial price estimates seemed reasonable. It was identified that my repair required a part from a donor board, understandable. All in all, fair, but not ideal. However, there was little to zero information exchanged/updated during the quoted repair period. Upon requesting a weekly update between the 6-8 week mark, their ticketing rep was unable to assist. At the 8 week mark, the ticketing rep was unable to confirm whether my GPU had been worked on or not. During this period, I was thinking about abandoning and getting a new card. I was available to drop by shortly after the estimated repair period expired. They had undergone repairs, still needed to replace the donor board chip, and completed the repair for pickup the following day. It seemed like I needed to remind them of the identified issues and when asking about the repair/health of the gpu, it was stated that they didn't play games with the card. My card is functional and hitting performance targets. If the option wasn't there, I would've of spent an additional $1000 on a new GPU. However, I wouldn't say its back to factory quality, but I'm happy. I truly appreciate the Northridge Fix team, but for $370 I really wish they had better coordination/communication with customers and wouldn't leave them in the dark."
"I've had an incredibly disappointing experience with NorthridgeFix, a repair service I came across via their YouTube channel. Like many others, I was swayed by their online presence and decided to send my Roku device for repair, following the instructions detailed on their website. I specified the device type during the submission process, and it was accepted, leading me to believe they could handle the repair. All required documents were included, and the device was shipped to their facility. A few weeks after receipt, I received a bewildering email stating my Roku was a "no-fix" because they do not service Roku devices, claiming it's not practical or cost-effective. They mentioned an impending invoice for the repair attempt and return shipping, offering to recycle the device if I didn't want it returned. This was a shock for two reasons: Miscommunication: The email's assertion "We do not currently work on Roku devices" was startling. I had clearly indicated the device type when I submitted the repair request. This lack of upfront communication is unacceptable. Unjust Charges: Despite acknowledging no work could be done, they still planned to charge me for attempting a repair and for return shipping. This felt particularly unfair given that: Diagnostic: No Work Approved: No Work Completed: No It's perplexing and frustrating to be charged when no diagnostic was performed, no work was approved, nor completed. It's clear there was no attempt to repair, yet the demand for payment persists. From my experience, I strongly advise against using NorthridgeFix. Their handling of my situation demonstrates a lack of transparency and fairness, making it hard to trust their services."
"If you watch their videos, be skeptical because the actual service quality will be much lower, especially if the problem cannot be solved, they will not refuse even if they know it cannot be solved, and they will charge high fees. If you see five star reviews, trust me, some of them are fake and have nothing to do with the content. Because customers want content that actually solves their problems, not self-glorifying content, and they’re not always busy at work. When customers come in person, they will act like they can solve a lot of problems, they will act busy, but in reality they can only solve simple problems. They know exactly how much they are capable of, or how far they can deceive the people watching the video. They solved my problem but the actual performance is different than what they show on the internet. This is very hypocritical and contrived. Expensive, fixed price, no testing. It only tests PCB voltage. If the test passes, you're done. My question took over an hour to complete but they promised to pick it up within four days and even though they were busy I gave them an extra day. When I came to pick up my order, I was told it would take a while to get your equipment and I saw maintenance staff working overtime. When I got home and used it, I noticed that their rude behavior had left scratches on the back panel of the graphics card. Although there is no damage, it is still clearly visible. The work is messy and the prices are high and don't match the service. I was introduced here by a fellow computer repairman. If your device is severely damaged, especially by electrical current, no repair is required. 99% of people will tell you this is irreversible. I know there is a large team in Miami that can repair seriously faulty motherboards, graphics cards, and laptop related equipment. Once the restoration is complete, they will perform testing, cleaning and maintenance. Their project costs are similar to here, but unfortunately the postage is more expensive than the equipment. This is a small team with professional and technical personnel, but it is not professional and serious enough. Know they need to charge more for everything to maintain the team but if the commitment and work is not taken seriously it would be hard to consider recommending here in the future Please keep in mind that they will not respond to any questions or messages via email, especially for remote repairs of equipment, you will only see the price of your order, if your equipment is told to be repaired only but not guaranteed to work, give up it. Since repairs are expensive it is better to accept a broken device rather than pay a hefty fee, believe me there is no guarantee of effectiveness, please consider."
"So I guess if your item isn't good enough for a video they won't even look at it. Sent my laptop in 8/1 for the battery connector to be soldered back on since I ripped it off replacing the battery. Paid for expedited and on 8/25 emailed them and was told it would be looked into. On 10/13 emailed again and was told would urgently look into it. Finally get an email saying it is a no fix due to possibly a CPU problem. How can I have a CPU problem if there is no battery connector on the board. Just got my laptop back on 10/31 and it is covered in their stickers with the battery connector still stuck to the lid in the bag I put it in untouched. I also had a piece of painters tape covering the spot the battery connector was to go and it was also untouched. Never again will I trust what I see on Youtube. Hopefully my local computer place can fix it otherwise I'm screwed. Update due to owner response. Bad company when they attack the customer because of review. I wish there would have been some communication over the nearly 3 months you had my computer. It would have been nice to know that my laptop didn't power on when you got it so I could have maybe paid a bit to get it diagnosed but no just a bill for shipping and goodbye."
"You’re my new favorite La supplier. Super fast shipping ! Love your videos, let me know if you ever have any vintage restorations you’d like to explore. I still do 2 inch analog magnetics, super low noise floor supply mods, & other electronics…"
