"UPDATE: If someone just inside the doors greets you and asks for your name and info, DO NOT give it to them. From the lobby entrance, turn left and walk to the check-in desk, not the desks in front of the doors which is staffed by salesman who will take your info and call you even if you ask them to stop. They've called FOUR times now after we've asked them not to. At the foot of Ski Run Blvd the location to Heavenly’s California Lodge is a nice perk. But the rest of the hotel is pretty average to sub-par. The rooms are very dated with old fixtures, small kitchenettes and no dishwasher. The TV for some reason has terrible picture quality. The lights were a strange choice of white LED (not soft white) and made the room feel like a brightly lit hospital room. We’ve stayed at the Marriott and the Hampton Inn and this is the oldest by far. The paid parking on premises fills up at around 8pm so you will need to park at the overflow lot behind the plaza across the street and walk back (hopefully it isn’t too snowy!). Parking is $22 a day. It’s a vacation resort meaning they’re trying to sell timeshares so they will hound you into trying to take their 2 hour, quite aggressively even for a timeshare. Before I even made it to the check-in desk I was approached by a Hilton rep who doesn’t disclose upfront that they want to talk to you about timeshares but instead asks if you’re checking in and gives you instructions to go to the check-in desk and then come see them as if it’s part of the check-in process. They also don’t clean rooms everyday, albeit quite a few hotels won’t after covid. Overall I would say that this property is way overdue for a refresh and unless it’s cheaper than the rest of the hotels in South Lake Tahoe you’re better off staying elsewhere."

"Brand new bathroom looked nice; however the tape that was holding the carpet down and together as soon as you walked into the room was extremely disappointing. Hotel location was ideal and access to the lake & beach behind it was great for our kids. Parking across the super busy main road was less than ideal especially with small children in tow, but the shuttle made it doable in the rain and dark. People were parked in 5 minute parking all day long since nobody was enforcing it."

"I have been a time share owner at Lake Tahoe Vacation Resort since 2011. I have been happy with my location but never the service we were promised. Several times one our reservation we were told the room was not available and we were sent to a different “motel”. This week was our first stay since Hilton took it over. I am one happy member now. Great service, very clean, great rooms. We are so happy to be time share owners with Hilton. Keep up the great work."

"The rooms are OK. All the lights are florescent making the entire room the oposite of cozy. The pillows are incredibly thin and that’s the best part of this hotel. Then there is the service. Absolutely incompetent. We asked to be booked next to our friends far in advance and they confirmed multiple times. They managed to mess that up. When we asked them to fix it they wouldn’t take accountability and instead of making things right tried to pitch us their time share services so we could get a gift card as a sorry. We asked our room to be cleaned two days in a row. Failed. Called to ask for it. Once again the staff says sorry it wasn’t me. 0 accountability or initiative to make the experience right. Good location though. Stay here and hope everything goes smooth."

"One of the BEST hotels that I ever stayed at. The rooms are so clean. It smells really nice. It might be a bit small but the quality of the room is just amazing. Service is also excellent. I'm not going to say it's the best but there's nothing to complain about. There are so many things to do inside the hotel that it makes us feel at home and comfortable. The location is also great since it is near the shops and also near the actual Lake. Looking forward to staying here once again."
