"Absolute joke of an institution. Had to move houses 6 days before our stay because they didn’t communicate with the owner of the house. In the house we ended up staying at my buddy was tazed by the bear fence that was not taken down/deactivated, electricity did not work in all but 2 outlets for the first day and a half (unsure if the two are correlated)."
"Booked a house with a group for March 6-11. A few weeks out, Vacasa informed us the the house was no longer available as the owners had decided they were going to use it during that time. So we worked with vacasa to switch into a different property. 6 days prior to our trip, we were again told that we would not be able to stay in the house that we had recently switched to, and we’re given the options of either having to pay for a more expensive property in order to keep our group together, or switching into two separate houses and paying less. We chose to split up, and get some $ back. Upon arriving, one of the houses had no electricity and Wi-Fi, which ended up taking two days and many phone calls to sort out. All in, it was a very disappointing experience. We were also unable to receive any sort of compensation/partial refund for the property with no electricity for the first two days. Also, one of the homes had instructions on how to turn off the bear wire guarding the property. After following the instructions, the first person to touch the wire in attempt to enter the house was still electrocuted."
"Our friend group booked a Vacasa property for a ski weekend in South Lake Tahoe and were looking forward to staying at this property as it looked nice and had all the things we were looking for. Unfortunately, that's where the pleasant experience ends. This property "management" company lacks the most basic humanity and customer service skills. When there was a national blizzard notice issued for the South Lake Tahoe area and road conditions are being described as "life threatening," Vacasa refused to provide a refund. Claiming that this is a "fluke" and does not constitute a refund. This money hungry property management company is more concerned about making a quick buck off customers than their safety and security. When attempting to get hold of a supervisor or someone in management that could maybe be more sensible and help resolve this issue, the reservation specialist (Melanie) put me on a long hold, with no one picking up the phone on the other end. I have tried contacting management several times and get thwarted by the reservation specialists. If you're looking to rent a place in South Lake Tahoe, and are going through VRBO or AirBnB and see Vacasa as a rental property, DEFINITELY do not book here unless you're okay with losing your money and being treated to the worst customer service possible in the face of a dangerous and hazardous condition. I would give them zero stars if I could. Unfortunately, being forced to give them 1 star is even too much to their credit. Will never be renting from this property again. Oh, and make sure you read the other person's review about bedbugs at some of their other properties. What a joke of a "management" company."
"Absolutely wonderful experience with Vacasa in Tahoe. They were incredibly responsive, and went out of their way to track down my brand new headphones that I had forgotten, and mailed it back to me the day after we checked out. So grateful for their incredible hospitality!!"
