"My husband and I have recently moved here from out of State. Let me preface my complaint by explaining that I have owned dogs for many years. I have been to different Petco salons, Vetco, groomers and veterinarian over the years since we have lived in IL, AZ, and now CA. I do understand there are different guidelines from state to state, as I have worked within the 'industry.' We have had our nail trims done at the Petco in Arizona, and more recently in Algonquin, IL and have never been presented with this issue for a basic $12 nail trim. In fact, that location was excellent with my dogs. Also, my brother would rave about the West Dundee, IL location for his dog's "Make Rover" and so I was hopeful for the same quality of services here. Last week I called this Petco salon to ask some questions and schedule a basic nail trim, and a "Make Rover" for my two dogs. No one answered the call and I figured they were busy, so I walked in to speak in person instead. They were able to be scheduled for today, August 2nd. Yesterday, I called to upgrade one of my dog's appts to a full groom and spoke with an associate whom assisted me with that and confirmed my appts. Today, after arriving with my two dogs at the front desk, the associate (whom I recall speaking to in person) began to ask about my pets' medications. I had explained that they do take allergy medications. My small rescue does take Benedryl in the morning. Associate then proceeded to explain that they could not perform the nail trim due to the Benedryl, I was declined service. I just walked out and took my dogs with me. I am beyond irritated that I have spoken to this salon staff twice already prior to bringing them in for their appts only to find that this was never mentioned to me in advance. I have no problem following protocol if I had been advised of this in advance. I would consider my initial visit and my telephone call yesterday the perfect opportunities for their staff to provide a quick consultation in advance. All of this over one of the most BASIC allergy medications out there. Thanks for wasting my valued time; after years of faithful Petco visits, we will be taking our business elsewhere. I believe that I have some valid points and am now very disappointed in Petco's customer service."

"This groomer was extremely helpful and pleasant. I usually take my dog to get groomed at the Petco by my house but there hadn't been any openings, and now I'm glad I chose this one. My usual salon never provided any kind of pet report card or feedback to how my dog was nor offer to set up regular appointments for grooming upkeep, so getting those here was a peasant surprise. I think I'll be coming to this salon from now on."
