"If it weren't for JANE the CNA, I would have taken my mother home. She treated her like she one of hers. I gave her 10 stars**********. My 80 y/o mother was transferred to Brookside Friday afternoon to recovery after surgery from LLUMC. She was still confused so I told the transport to let the admitting RN that I will follow after she gets settled in. I got there just before 8pm almost in tears when I saw my mom in the restroom gown half open, diaper halfway down to her legs and barefoot with a PUDDLE OF WATER on the floor. I think the toilet itself was leaking. I got my son to call for help while I cleaned her up. A male CNA showed up not knowing how to put on the diaper so I told him I'll take care of it and he left. [NObody came to check on on us after that]. TWO hours after I complained to the nurse a monitor was placed under her bed that makes a noise if she ever gets up. I would have taken her to Linda Valley but no available bed. I didn't leave until she was fully asleep that night , I was scared she might get up and fall. I came back Saturday, the PUDDLE was still there. I complained and they said will notify housekeeping. Came Sunday, the PUDDLE was still there. Notified the front desk because she's the ONLY one available. Somebody came in and place a bunch of blanket on the PUDDLE. The next day she was transferred to another room. Not sure if they fixed the leaking toilet- I'm afraid for the other 2 grandmas in that room. My mom came in with a waffle bed to prevent the open skin in her buttocks to get worse. I made sure to let the transport know to keep it with her. When I got there, no waffle bed. Tanya, the nurse said "they threw it away, we'll just get a special bed that turns every so often". NO special bed appeared. When they moved her to another room, they lost her bedroom slipper. Again... "they threw it away". I should have taken a picture- her 5th day in that facility, I went to get the toilet ready for my mom to use--- the toilet seat had smear of feces and blood on the floor. I asked for housekeeping to clean it but instead one of the CNA [not Jane] came and wiped it with a wet paper towel=====GROSS!!!!! I got my sanitary wipes and wiped it again and again!!! I'm just hoping that she gets to go home tomorrow."

Nurses are so sweet with her and are on top of her medications and overall comfort-level. Also a big thank you to the social services and therapy staff for their communication with me!"

Anneliese (CM) She is amazing, communicative, compassionate and a pleasure to work with. She takes pride in her work and helping families navigate through this transition. make sure you get to know her!!!! Brian- captain of the ship. He makes sure staff and facility is running at optimal performance! I've appreciated how he operates the facility! Staff(Nurses)- well this is Backbone for your loved ones while they are here. Nurses move fast and quickly to attend to patient care in a timely manner. patients have been very pleased and happy how questions and patients needs have been met.
