"Every time I call in to the office the staff always seems to be in some kind of mood. It is really frustrating the lack of help they like to offer you. The teachers are all really great and do their best to keep up on things and keep you informed however, the office always seems to be too busy to help yet every time I walk in there they seem to be talking more about their personal lives than the children or anything in relation to school itself. Chandler is a really great school that my kids have been attending for years but one thing that seems to never change is the office staffs attitude. The principal is amazing I can not say enough good things about her. she is really involved and has a wonderful understanding personality. Chandler is lucky to have her on their team. One more thing I would like to mention is the fact that if your kid has a different last name and you're a single mom if they mail out a letter in your kids name and the mailman doesn't recognize it and sends it back get ready for an address verification. They will show at your job or your house just to make sure you live there even if your kids have been attending the school for k-5th grade. (kind of embarrassing)"

"Chandler Learning Academy is a wonderful neighborhood school. We could afford private education and/or send our son to a public magnet school but we chose Chandler because it has so many positive attributes. The principal, Mrs. McIntire, is an excellent leader and used to be the Assistant Principal at Lanai Elementary School in the Encino hills. Under her leadership, Chandler has steadily improved over the last decade. Chandler's API score has risen dramatically between the years of 1999 - 2013 from 590 - 850 earning Chandler the California Distinguished School award. This is the first year it became a charter school which means the principal, teachers and parents will have more say in how the budget is allocated. Chandler is a smaller public school and the class sizes are small, especially in K-3. The teachers are very well qualified, nurturing, accessible and get along with each other and the principal. The teachers with elementary age students send their students to Chandler which speaks volumes about the quality of the school. The after school offerings are top-notch and much better than other local elementary schools because the school contracts outside companies that specialize in their field. The after school classes include: art (drawing and painting), Spanish, tennis, cooking, karate, and STEM robotics. The PTA is growing and they are very receptive to new ideas. The school has a GATE program for gifted students and effectively differentiates learning. Beginning in kindergarten, students are divided into three math groups once a week and grouped to meet their individual needs. Socially, my son has made many friends and enjoys going to school. My son is very happy at his school and proud to be a Chandler Cheetah."
