"We were on a road trip and found a dog loose in the busy street with no tags. We brought the dog here so it wouldn’t get ran over and the lady was beyond rude to us. She basically accused me of dropping off “my dog” . We were just trying to do a good deed and she made us feel like crimson. I left there crying . This place is terrible."
"The people behind this Sacramento County shelter are in these job positions for the wrong reasons. This shelter is a direct connection to Sacramento Animal Control. I had two severely injured and abused dogs come on to my grandmother property at night. A brown Poodle who had the worst matting I have seen, a chain entangled into his fur and he flinched at the slightest touch. This Poodle was shaking and had fur so thick it was covering his eyes. There was also a small Boston terrier mix who was bleeding from her backside, had not been bathed in a long time as parts of fur that were white were discolored by a lot of dirt. She smelled like she had been sprayed by a skunk a long time ago, she also had a large scar around her whole neck. I had to bathe this Boston Terrier Mix 3 times to get her clean but she still smelled. I stayed up hours into the night helping the dogs. I cut the chain out of the Poodles fur, I cut the Poodle some bangs so he could see. This Poodle could actually see now, and he was surprised by it. I was cutting some matting out but it fully needed to by shaved by a professional it was so bad. I treated the Boston Terrier Mix wounded area she was bleeding from. I gave them beds and blankets on the floor so they could be comfortable. They got food and water. They flinched at a gentle touch like they were used to being hit or scared to be hit. Clear signs of abuse and neglect. They were so scared but so sweet. Over those hours they trusted me. My mistake was taking them to Sacramento County Bradshaw Animal Shelter. I took them there hoping they would get more medical care and I explained to the shelter every single thing I had done for them. Sacramento County Bradshaw Animal Shelter took the dogs, and the Poodle wad microchipped. Turns out the owners had lost their dogs the same day I found them just earlier in the day. The owners picked up the dogs they had mistreated for a very long time. Filling a report with Sacramento County Animal Control is a nightmare. I had pictures, video, dates and times. It was not good enough for them to care. I sent PDF of everything I did that night with proof. I had to call to file reports multiple times because my "report isn't in our system" meaning I spent time talking to a Sacramento County person to file reports for them to do nothing. When I complained about my report, I was met with attitude. Getting in touch with Sacramento County Animal Control over the phone was pathetic. After asking for someone to check on the dogs Sacramento County Animal Control finally sent one Officer over. He called me and said that the Poodle had no matting and looked healthy and that the little dog had no scar around her neck and that "Scars heal so it may be gone". Her scar was deep, large and permanent I knew he was lying to me. I wish I could get paid for doing nothing, because clearly Sacramento County Animal Control doesn't want to do anything unless it involves killing an animal and Sacramento County Animal Shelter Bradshaw will aid them in that process. If you ever choose to work for Sacramento County Animal Shelter Bradshaw, they want you to do every task there is. You will work 10 hour shifts doing everything around the shelter and that includes a requirement of euthanizing animals for "Sickness, behavioral and overcrowding". As they have stated. You will have multiple jobs/job titles but you be only paid for one of them. The amount of money they offer for all they ask and require you to do is not worth it. It is a red flag. They as people and a system are a red flag. A disappointment to Sacramento."
"It was fun.. I went with my sister to look for a small dog. She found one but he didn't like women. She did find a dog and is happy. They have dog's,cat, sometimes rabbits. The staff is extremely helpful and kind. I enjoyed myself. I hope you do too."
"One of the nicest and cleanest and very helpful staff of any shelter I've ever seen. The staff was prompt and very helpful when it came to my Wife adopting her dog. 5 stars all around!"
