"We moved to this practice because Dr. Hutton is amazing with both of our kids (3yr & 1yr). She’s been their pediatrician since the day they were born. I always leave an appointment feeling heard, confident that we are making the right decisions for our kids, and like she truly cares about them. I LOVE this practice. I can always get a sick appointment same day (usually within 2 hours). There is never a wait. Everyone is kind and positive. They are in network through my insurance, so that’s great. We’re so happy we switched from a large hospital with not enough staff to Coast Pediatrics."
"A+ Dr Bagrodia - Best Pediatrician around! I cannot express my sincere gratitude to Dr. B and her entire staff at 4S Ranch. They're professional and with a newborn who had bad colic they treated us with the upmost respect, never rushing our appointments, spending ample time answering all of our questions. As first time parents', there are times you visit the doctor's office only to feel rushed with not all your questions answered. Dr. Bagrodia bedside manner is "treat all patients with kindness, take time to answer all questions". Never once did I ever feel rushed and I admit can be "high maintenance" to ensure the highest quality care for my first born(as I'm sure all parents' would). The office is brand new, exceptionally clean and the nursing staff are very attentive, kind and will always schedule your follow-up appts. You feel like you are part of a family when coming in. I did research and selected Dr. Bagrodia because of her patience and knowledge in the field. She has helped my daughter grow and flourish under her care. With a few issues with choking, Dr. B provide several recommendations, referrals to rule out any abnormal defects due to the severity of my child's issue. The thing that stands out the most is the amount of quality time Dr. B will spend with you. Most times you get an appt, the doctor spends a few mins and that's it. You feel like half of your questions were left unanswered - but not in my case. You will feel like you left the office an "informed" parent who can make the right decisions for quality care of your baby. I cannot recommend another office than the 4S Ranch Location. Paying an extra fee for quality care is worth every penny. Highly recommend Dr. Bagrodia- she's one of the very best and a class act!"
"We just had our first appointment with Dr. Hutton and it went great! She is caring, kind, and knowledgeable. She took the time to get to know us and learn my sons history. The office is brand new, so it’s nice, clean, and open. I am so glad I decided to switch pediatricians."
"Terrible. Unprofessional and retaliatory. I’m a first-time mom and initially chose Coast because of the good reviews and bc they were opening a 4S Ranch office close by. Coast assured me the 4S Ranch office would be open by the time my baby was born. 2 months later, I book an appointment for my newborn. I learn 4S Ranch still isn't open, but they’d see me in Del Mar. I’m disappointed to have to drive much farther with a newborn, and that they didn't tell us the opening was delayed (it felt dishonest). I nevertheless went to Del Mar because I wanted the best for my daughter, and I’d thought Coast was best. When we got to Del Mar for our 1st visit, there was no electricity. No one communicated this beforehand. They couldn’t pull up our medical records, but luckily I brought a paper copy. Everyone looked frazzled, but I chose to give them the benefit of the doubt because I understood losing power wasn’t in Coast’s control. But things kept going downhill. Dr Bagrodia was short with us, impersonal, and did the bare minimum. Our baby was losing weight, but instead of trying to understand our struggles and offering lactation help, she just gave us formula and told us to come back to weigh her again. I left feeling discouraged in my ability to breastfeed, which is the last thing I’d wish on a new mom. I wasn’t feeling great about sticking with Coast but wanted to be sure my baby was ok, so followed Dr B’s advice to return the next day. This time we saw Dr Gillin, the on-call. My baby had gained weight (not because I fed her formula - I didn’t - but because of hard work breastfeeding). To her credit, Dr G was warm, supportive, and encouraging. But Dr G wasnt taking new patients. So we told the office we would be going elsewhere. They pressured us to return in 2 days; we did not. Weeks later, we get a bill for our 2nd appointment. My insurance won’t cover it because Coast didn’t bill it as a standard wellness visit, though that’s what I’d thought we were going for (shouldn’t the office let us know if they’re going to bill differently? If we’d continued to return for weight checks as advised, would they have kept sending exorbitant bills for putting our baby on a scale? Plus our 1st appointment was so short I thought it was unfinished due to the outage; they even asked us to bring med records back because they couldn’t process them the 1st time). We call Coast to ask why we were billed this way. Diane from billing says because our child was sick. We ask for clarification. She says our baby was jaundiced. This is news to us. We review the notes. There hadn’t been a bilirubin check. So at this point, my husband starts expressing concern that Coast is retaliating against us for leaving, and billing unfairly. At some point Diane has the audacity to scold him for being “not nice.” Then she says she can bill this as a wellness check but that would mean our insurance won’t cover future vaccinations (this is false). We ask to proceed with the change. Later insurance calls to say Coast won't make the change. Diane confirms she lied earlier. Diane said our child was “so sick she was about to be admitted to the hospital.” Now, this is a shocking allegation. Why were we finding this out months later? Either Coast doctors knew this and didn’t tell us, which is irresponsible, or Diane was exaggerating, which is unprofessional. We have more back and forth with Diane but she refuses to help. Our insurance tells us Diane keeps saying we were “not nice.” First of all, that’s no reason not to advocate for your patients. But also, wouldn’t you be upset if someone told you months later your perfectly healthy child was about to go to the hospital? My advice to new moms: stay away. Comparing our experience with Coast to our current pediatrician has been night and day. Our current ped has been infinitely more thorough and helpful. I’ve gone back outside of the monthly checks and never had an issue with billing. After all the stress Coast put me through, I’ve learned that the practice that charges the bougie admin fee isn’t always best."
