"Intake was swift and thorough. The entire staff was competent and connected as a team. Outreach coordinator was on point and has the right personality for the functions of his job. There are male and female counselors available. All the required postings are upfront, unobstructed and readily available for all veterans and visitors to view. The place has a warm feel to it and the information and resources alone are profound in number showing how much care is given to veterans in & by the surrounding communities. This is a highly involved, active and well developed Vet Center which looks (thus far) to be run with strong leadership developing and growing veteran leaders at all levels. It’s clean and inviting. The lobby of veterans in attendance were welcoming as well. Most notably, outside of what appears to be a strong team dynamic amongst the staff is the energy flow that they care, have a good sense of humor and take their job seriously. I look forward to that kind of energy and enthusiasm and was happy to see that without pause on my visit. Parking is good and the outside properly marked and well maintained. Looking forward to visiting more."
"Placed a call seeking grieving counseling information for my family, as I was referred here. Not one condolence, which I would assume to be a basic human response. The man who answered was quick to provide me with a complex list of requirements to become a client when I didn’t even express interest in becoming one. And even though my family is eligible - no thanks.I just wanted information for my grieving family member but I don’t think this center is affiliated with the VA. So don’t come here if you need help from someone with sincere care for U.S. military and their families."
"These guys honestly work their butts off to try to help us vets and they don't get paid what they should, so that means they're doing it because they love it. Never had a problem with this vet center."
"I was given a phone number to call at the VA and a “good luck” I’m still just as lost as when I started because all the VA gives me are more phone numbers to call as well. Here call this number. Call that number and here call this number. Call that number, get transferred and get told to call an organization who isn’t the VA to help with VA claims. Call them and get a busy tone. No help anywhere. Less than no help because nobody seems to actually do anything. They’re all really good at sending you somewhere else that won’t help you!"
"Lost some respect for this place when my group leader transferred. Knowing this transfer was coming you would of thought The leadership would of planned for this to assign another counselor to our group. When he left no counselor was assigned to carry on the group. I thought that this was UNSAT if the staff for not assigning a a counselor to our group do that it could continue. At the time he left nothing was done and the group dissolved. I thought this was unsat that the leadership failed to plan for his departure so that the group could continue. Up until this point I believed in the vet center. But when nothing was done at the time to insure the continuance of the group I lost faith in the place and haven’t been back sense. I would of thought that a plan would of been in place to insure the group carried on. At that time nothing was done to insure the group continued so I left. If it started up I wouldn’t know. What a let down at the time. I really trusted that place but that stopped after the group was stopped. Maybe the group restarted I don’t know."
