CAMP Clinic San Pedro (community medicine)

"Unfortunately, I am having to follow through with making this sub-par rating due to a situation that they refuse to resolve. I brought my pets here for the first time, for a wellness visit before a cross country move. They require you to drop off your pet early in the morning and state at the desk what you would like to have them check up on for each pet. I let them know that I would like them checked for this and for that and I wanted a consultation for calming meds for our cross country trip. I was under reasonable understanding, that if I was dropping my pets off, then I would receive a phone call after assessment (at the VERY LEAST) to determine whether or not they would need any treatments, etc. I called the number 3-4 times with no answer throughout the day to try and speak with the vet bc I hadn’t heard a thing for several hours. I then received a missed call, AFTER the assessment (which was fine bc my husband was already on his way there to check on them due to no calls). Upon my husbands arrival, they handed my husband the INVOICE (they claim was the estimate) and my husband paid, believing they had already spoken to me and that the astronomical fee was already agreed upon). Upon reading the invoice, it CLEARLY annotates that my animals showed ‘NO SIGNS’ of what I had asked to be checked, but CHARGED ME ANYWAY FOR TREATMENT. Essentially, administering a medication that they did not need! All of this is time stamped on the invoice, and they are (1) claiming my husband ‘agreed to it by paying’ and (2) stating that they DID NOT administer medications until AFTER my husband ‘agreed to it’ which he absolutely DID NOT! (Trying to have me believe that they had my pets allllll day, but did not give them medication until my husband walked through the door to take them home an hour and a half AFTER the assessment) Again, I have time stamped documentation and they are claiming ‘well then that is wrong’ bc “our system shows different, and our policy is this…”. They refuse to reimburse me for these medications that my pets did not even need, and with no prior authorization from me. It is SHAMEFUL. They are now claiming that ‘they will possibly look into a change policy due to this mixup’ but again, REFUSE to reimburse me nearly $80! I am seriously shocked, because we have had wonderful experiences with the Gaffey Street, CAMP LA location for 3 years! If we weren’t moving, they’d have lost a customer today. BEWARE, smh."

"Went in for my little dog's booster shots and nail clipping and was treated well with kind patience by the receptionist and clinic technician as we checked in and when my dog was taken in & returned from her appt on a very busy afternoon there. Grateful for this clinic location in downtown San Pedro and the wonderful people who work there."
