"I love dancing and this year I wanted to find a dance studio where I could learn new skills and dance styles in a progressive momentum and based off of The Salsa Beat Instagram, they seemed perfect! I have loved every second of it! I started my second series, and this new class definitely challenged me more, which at first was a little overwhelming but when I finally got out of my head and focused on the dancing, I felt like I was able to pick up on the material. The instructors are all very kind and encouraging and provide helpful feedback. I am always welcomed in with open arms, and it feels like a safe learning environment for all levels. I am really excited to continue in this progression; I'm obsessed!"
"I take level 4 & 5 salsa training with Juan & Erica. I definitely feel more like a "salsero" now. I've gained confidence in keeping it simple and smooth. Understanding that I don't need to do all the advanced or challenging patterns to have a great dance. It's okay to train at a high level but choose to social dance at a more relaxed level. WONDERFUL people & instructors!!"
"The structure of the class is incredible. From the warmups to the dancing at the end, there is a progressive flow that I haven’t seen before. Juan and Erica know exactly the right amount to teach so that every single student gets the pattern and footwork (unless they miss class, of course, for which the online videos and recaps are essential to catch up!) while making sure we stick to proper technique. How they assess our dancing before moving forward, how you incorporate the previous level into the current level, and the rotational flow so everyone is always dancing is just extremely efficient. The individual feedback is critical, especially the constant reminders for those of us who have formed bad habits from social dancing. The shines and how they incorporate into the pattern is so beautifully thought out, that it makes these progressive lessons extremely practical for social dancing, which is really what we all want, essentially. I’m looking forward to eliminating my bad habits and getting more confident in my shines in these next progressives! Thanks Juan and Erica!"
"To the Salsa Beat Team (Juan, Erica, and Team) I recently started taking Salsa lessons 8 months ago. However, I started with The Salsa Beat 2 months ago. I do not write a lot of reviews, but I feel I must offer credit to a great team. I started dancing in step one but now I dance in step 2. I have come to realize dancing in step 2 is much easier than step 1 (however, I am better at dancing in step 1 and that is because of the dedication to footwork using step 2 studying at The Salsa Beat). Studying at The Salsa Beat, the team provides the opportunity for their members to develop the skills needed to enjoy Salsa dancing with different levels of dancers from beginners to advanced levels. Enter acting with The Salsa Beat team, each person offers the tools for the dancer to reach his or her goal as it relates to the type of dancer they would like to be. As for me, I will continue to reach my goal, which is to allow the Salsa Beat team to offer me the tools I require to allow the music to dictate the tone, moves, and the rhythm dancing to Salsa music and no matter who I dance with, we have a good connection on the dance floor. "I wish I knew about this place earlier! I have danced salsa for almost 2 years and have never seen progress the way I’ve done dancing with Juan and Erica. I love how they teach! they are funny and fun and they are both great dancers and communicators so they are excellent at teaching technique and body movement. They both have the skill of giving practical, clear, detailed but never overwhelming feedback. I appreciate their structured and organized approach to teaching because I have been able to see progress They are also detail oriented. As a student I can tell they go the extra mile, they take the time to get to know their students and their specific goals, they’re always happy to answer questions and they record the classes so you can see your progress and review classes. The best part is that they make it fun. They are always smiling and remind you to smile while dancing lol. Both Juan and Erica have cool, fun personalities and they are very welcoming. As a follow I’m even more appreciative of their classes. I find in most studios/ classes guidelines for the follow is an afterthought, but at The Salsa Beat they know that is important for both follow and lead to have the proper instruction."
