Massage Envy

"Completely dissatisfied with my massage. I scheduled a deep tissue massage and a 4’10 small petite girl leads me into a room and says that she will be my massage therapist for today. I wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt despite her size, but my deep tissue massage felt more like she was putting Lotion on me instead of actually massaging. Additionally, trying to cancel a membership here is nearly impossible. I did the right thing and gave this facility a proper doctors note and I still got charged the membership fee not once, but twice after attempting to cancel my membership the right way. I believe that I should have received a refund, but the manager Tamara which I waited 25 minutes on the phone for said that there was absolutely nothing she could do. Never coming back."

"After searching few places l though found a perfect place for 60 min facial massage. And this young lady named Tatiana was really really good , knew exactly where to roll , press hold and timing was just progressed like what your facial mussels required . I felt great relaxation to the point of sleep. Was very happy as we all know all the masseuses are not the same . I tried to book a reservation for next week and they said Tatiana quit. I was so disappointed This place seems can’t keep the good ones My friend Jane is also fed us as her masseuse no longer there They lost two clients and our office My advice don’t change the masseuse so often , it’s like changing the chef in the restaurant, people won’t come back They wouldn’t tell Me where she went to work, that upset Me , that’s why the review ."

"I went and felt pushed into getting a membership. They had locations in all the places I travel and I thought it would be a good treat for myself. I heard people saying, "did you get her?!" Which didn't feel great. While explaining the benefits, they never said I couldn't cancel! And then went to Syracuse where there were no appointments for 3 months out and then I went to Asheville where again there were no appointments for 3 months out. Given that it made it clear that I was not going to be able to travel and give massages, I decided there was no way I could keep my membership and make it work. At that point I reached out to La Jolla massage envy four times. Each time they told me that I would have to come in to cancel my membership. If I could do it at all. Explain that I was across the country and wouldn't be back to La Jolla for anytime the foreseeable future. And that I needed it canceled before that. I was told each time the manager would call back. It is now been over a month that I've been attempting to cancel my membership and nobody has gotten back to me. Not once. So organization feels incredibly shady. It does not feel like they're looking out for the people that they're serving, but for money. Extremely disappointed!! The time of my writing this I have still not been able to get them to cancel my membership. PLEASE BE VERY WARY OF SIGNING UP FOR THIS SERVICE!!"

"I have been a customer for years, standing appointment once a week same therapist. Even when I am out of town I give away my appointment to an employee or a client not to miss my spot and keep my commitment to my therapist . Yesterday I showed up for my weekly appointment, pre-scheduled for months in advance and confirmed by phone a week earlier and the appointment was given to someone else without notice to me. The manager did not do the right Thing in my opinion to a loyal member for years and preferred to let me go than honor my prescheduled appointment . It might sound mundane but good customer service requires good Managment and appreciation for loyalty , thus a 1 star , a lost of a client. My loss too but the principle is my point."

"Bella who does facial is extremely rude and unprofessional. I had an appointment scheduled for a facial and she called me the day before to cancel because she was going on vacation I told that would be fine and I would like to reschedule for the next week same day and the time she said ok! Friday afternoon comes around and without seeing a confirmation email for my Sunday apoitment I had called 4 times with no answer. Saturday morning I called at 8:45 am, 8:57, 10:14, 10:30 and no answer. Then Sunday comes and I called them 10:02 am, and 10:06 and drove to the 7650 Girard Ave Ste 200, La Jolla, CA 92037 location went into the elevator 2nd floor and it was pitch dark all lights out. Iooked at the website and they confirmed that they opened at 10 am on Sundays. I call Monday morning and spoke to Barbra the office manager who said that it looks like someone tried to call me Friday .. my phone records show differently and there was no voicemail. She said that she would have the manager call me back. Then I get a call from Bella who then calls me a liar and starts shouting at me saying that I'm wrong. She should never insult someone's intelligence Bella needs a wake-up call and learns some customer service. I don't think it's a good practice to have people like her to contact paying clients. I have contacted corporate and will be contacting the better business bureau on this location."
