"Arrived early at 8:45am to have my new puppy neutered. We were greeted by the cutest cat just chilling on the counter. Check in was quick and I appreciated that the lobby was clean and without a bad smell like most vet clinics. Bathroom was clean too. I’m afraid I didn’t get her name but the young asian employee was very nice. She wasn’t able to answer a few of our questions but we didn’t mind as we sincerely appreciated her patience, kindness and honesty. Anyways, she informed us that we would be contacted after 3pm for pick up. The rescue that referred us to this clinic had told us in advance that the vet would check in with us in the afternoon (after the procedure) + a few hours would be needed for observation so I brought this up to her and she said she would. We also decided to get the pre-opt blood test ($195) just to make sure he was healthy for anesthesia. We were told that we would be contacted if they found him unfit for surgery. After 4.5 hours, my anxiety got the best of me and we decided to call around 1:30pm. A male employee (who I spoke to before) answered and he said that our dog was still waiting but was next. We were able to confirm with him that there were no negative findings in the blood test. We got a call around 3:15pm that it went well and he would have to be picked up before 4:30pm. We decided to go as late as possible so that they could monitor him longer. When we arrived the lobby got super busy. The same girl that helped us earlier was available to help us, all the while multi-tasking and helping other people. I overheard an employee on the phone doing followup calls. We never received one but regardless I’m just happy that our little pup is doing great and healing well. I took a star off because the first time I called wasn’t too pleasant. I had called to ask what kind of stitches were used to know if we had to go back for the stitches to be removed. The male staff (I mentioned earlier) sounded annoyed and just stated the medical acronym of the stitch brand like I should know. When I asked what that was specifically he arrogantly replied “the stitches.” OBVIOUSLY -_- Anyways, the only thing they could improve on (in my honest opinion) is for the front staff to be more informative about tests, test results, procedures and definitely after care. I am not a first time pet owner but I know that it would be much appreciated by someone who might be."
"Dr. A was incredible, often times you are left in the dark regarding the thought processes and decisions made by the vet. But as he treated my dog and as he explained his thinking, it almost felt like he was thinking out loud. Giving me possible reasons for my dogs ailment and levels of approaches in regard to how aggressive we wanted to tackle the problem as well as reasons for the approach. Overall I highly recommend this location and I will continue to come back. Thanks South Coast Hospital!"
"I took my bunny here yesterday to see Dr. Aramburu because I could not get him in with his usual vet. We had a great experience and the Dr. did not rush through at all and had a lot of bunny knowledge. I got the sense all of the staff truly cares about animals and feel confident taking my pets back. It is good to know we have a good bunny vet close by."
"An awful experience. There was a mix-up between the office and the doctor about my cat's weight. The office reported 3.2 POUNDS while the doctor's notes reported 3.2 kg (approximately 7 pounds). Consequently, my cat was overdosed and nearly died. Also, I asked for one x-ray of his paw and they took 11 x-rays of his whole body and upped the bill approximately $300 additional. They said the radiologist would call me within 24 hours with the results, but they only called me 5 days later (at 9 p.m.!) after I prompted them to do so and had asked for my money back. And it wasn't the radiologist who called, it was the office manager! When I physically went there to talk with the doctor who was not calling me back, I saw an office tech put a dog in a plastic collar into the back of an open air truck and watched the owner drive away, putting the animal in great danger. When I asked another of their techs if this illegal practice was common policy, she said, 'Sir, I don't know what our policies are here. We just kinda learn as we go." Stay away. Go anywhere but here. My beloved cat, Pilgrim, eventually died four months after his last visit here, due in part to the overdose they administered. Find someone good with training. This place ain't it!"
"Best Vet we’ve been to! Super accommodating with nervous dogs and their prices are good considering they are in an expensive area. With COVID, there has been a wait time for pick up, but nothing crazy, and it’s to be expected since most other Vet offices were closed. We recently moved away, but will still be making the drive to come here!"
